I wouldn't say that's the complete story, I bet ya a ton of people are interested in the hobby but not enough to take the plunge and actually do the work and funds required to start, so like for every one who actually started the hobby there are several on the sidelines that don't.

Great info! Thanks for sharing! I've been involved with indie art toys for a few years now. I've done 3D printing, silicone casting, PVC, and even vinyl! Its great to see such transparency with your process!

Thanks for the video! I´ve been 3D printing my sculptures and always wonder how the alibaba pipeline would look like. You gave a pretty clear picture of the costs and time to cover the entire process. Really appreciate it!

@@432hzz Hire a character designer, as they design the character then you will need a 3D modeller or 3D sculptor (depends on a design). after he/she will make a 3D file then you send it to 3D Print shop and make a print of prototype. then you send it to silicone mold maker and he will make a mold for it. after this you pour liquid plastic in the mold and produce the toy you want. to paint it you will need paint booth and silent air compressor with airbrush and some paints. you will also have to order 3d modeller to make a paint masks which will be 3d printed. later you will dress these paint masks to your toy to shield it from paint color that should not touch that specific place. of course then you undress the mask and dress the rest of toy to paint previously shielded area. i don't know any further moves but then you will have to market it and convince someone to buy it which is another story on it's own. i do 3d modelling and if you want email me for service.i can't help you any further because i don't know it myself.
