Us women can be so picky and negative about each other but all you do is praise what others are doing with their clothes and ensembles. It doesn’t take a lot of money to look terrific and even up scale. I have learned how to dress my particular body type and what colors look good on me. It amuses me to no end when someone asks where I got something and I tell them TJ Maxx or Walmart, and they are taken aback. 😉. Accessories help and can absolutely make an outfit. Costume jewelry as opposed to “real” jewelry doesn’t have to look tacky. Belts, purses, shoes…. buy the best quality you can afford and take care of it. Launder your clothes with care. You can absolutely get several years worth of wear from an inexpensive tee shirt…meaning not a $100 one. I wash everything in cold water on delicate or handwash ,with mild detergent, and rarely machine dry the majority of my clothes. This alone saves me money…which I usually turn around and spend on shoes or jewelry. 😁. Wanting to look put together is not the same thing as vanity. And, learning how to dress as well as you can is a skill that can be learned. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Michelle, I have a question about shoe color for those of us who are in the petite side. I'm only 5,'3" and I always feel like a neutral colored taupe shoe is best regardless if I have a medium to dark pair of jeans or nice pants on. I feel like if I break up the overall color tone of what I'm wearing , I tend to look even shorter. For example, which is best for a black top or blazer paired with jeans??

Hello Pamela! I am 5,2' and a half and I try to always wear a lighter shoe if I can. In the winter I tend to wear black pants or jeans and pair them with black short boots, just to lengthen as much as possible.
