Your expressions and charisma of story telling intrigue me. It remind me of my Auntie who was to enthusiastic when telling us stories as kids. I love how you express how wonderful everything was back home, how organic and pure things are. It made me miss my childhood and all the healthy organic food available. I use to hate all the labor but I so miss being able to grab a pomegranate off the trees on the way to school Thanks for sharing your cooking and life with us, it made me smile!

Hi, Mabel- I tried your way with whole milk and whole milk plain yogurt, and put it in the preheated oven overnight (I preheated it to 200). The following morning, I took it out and the yogurt was not thick... it was very milky (wet- no "ghaymar"). What am I doing wrong? I didn't use a clay pot, but I know many Assyrian/Armenian families that don't necessarily use clay pot. Please help.

Thanks for your kind answer - Now it makes sense, I guess what is not clear in the video is that you turn off the oven - I thought it had to be on for 8 hours !! I'll try this way - thanks

@vancouerjoey Yes darling, as I said in my video that is what we used to do back home so this is perfectly fine to do this in Canada :-) Actually, what I do is preheat the oven to warm it up but then I turn the oven off so that I am not using any electric. I used to do the blanket method too. God bless you and thank you for your comment.

HI, MY MOTHER USED TO ADD THE YOUGURT TO THE HOT MILK AND COVER IT WITH A BLANKET ALL NIGHT AND IT WORKED OUT FINE - HEATING THE OVERN 8 HRS IS TOO EXPENSIVE HERE IN CANADA - DONT YOU AGREE?
