if you ever get collab, tell them to make them with detachable cables, and ship them with 3 cable terminations in the box this way you would minimize the need for more adapters and in case of damage you could just replace them. I also think Littlewhite is a bit big, think it could be smaller…

Neck amps are great. I am a neckband guy in general. I wish I had qudelik 5k in the shape of a neck band but moondrop product is a nice consolation price. I have one from blon but it's still on micro USB. Still works way better than the TWS adapters I've tried

They are nice for work because you don't lose the earbud in a different dimension when a piece of wood cracks you in the helmet and knocks you out. Also the batteries are more robust and don't turn to garbage as quick as TWS earbuds do.

In addition to your opinion on hands free headphones and iems I think these are not too far off most of the dongle dacs I have like the shanling ua3 and the moonriver. I wish Sony would update their WI-1000XM2 neckband ANC. I use them for travel and when flying, with 3.5mm support in a compact ANC setup. The ability to have ANC, use them BT as well as wired, makes them more useful than true wireless buds.

Yes, would love to have a full-sized wireless neckband with magnetic connectors where you can put mmcx, 2pin, 2.5mm and everything else. Something like what TRN is doing with their TWS adapters. In a way, TRN BT3S bro is the closest but it's not a full sized neckband.

Personally use the Ikko OH10's with the BTR5. Love 'em. Use them about 10-12hrs a day.. So need them plugged in at my desk, neckbands would be great for out and about, but for what I use mine for I tend to just have the BTR clipped to my pocket, and when sat at my desk it's plugged in and charging, if need to step away, unplug and good to go for hrs.. (Might need to replace the BTR5 soon though as the battery life is dipping from the 2yrs of CONSTANT use. BTR7 next maybe?)

Alternative would be bt dac with amp and powerbank, those could power 600ohm even, but design would be so bad 😂 it would help adding bass with better resistors tho, like 200ohm ones.

KZ one is about 22€-ish. I got the basic SBC version from CVJ for like 9€ and... well i've had worse BT receivers for 80€ (fuck you Oehlbach) and i've had better ones for 2.50€ (BT001 often sold as Essager, but they're the same across brands and non-brands, and really surprisingly good for a basic SBC unit), which is a little bit of a disappointment, since i expected the CVJ to match BT001 exactly but it wasn't to be. How nice are the KZ ones? I think i gotta buy them.

@@SianaGearz Interesting! I also saw the cheaper ones, but it looked like they had an quite older BT chip and I therefore didn't consider them. I would put the KZs on FiiO UTWS1 level with a slightly lower noisefloor. So good genough for outside use. But not as a headset. It has quite some issues dealing with wind. Compared to that I can use my Shanlings or UTWS5 on a bike on a windy day and people can stilld understand me.

The only reason they aren't popular is because they have all sucked so far. Make one of these with good power, ambient audio pass through, powerful EQ, and all day battery life and they would be insanely popular. If they could work out a way to do noise cancelling for specific IEMs that would be huge too. N

If a company makes one of these with replacable batteries then 10/10. They already got big honking ends on with batteries so why not making it a triple A/quadruple A or something easy to replace so it's not just ticking time to ewaste.

Nah AAAs don't have the energy density; just have it use those mass produced Li-Ion pouch cell types that they ALREADY use but on a like JST GH connector. This way you can get a replacement cell from any of those stores which sell retrofit cells, they can just terminate the bare wire cell with the connector for you. There is one such store in walking distance from me or you can just mail-order the stuff. Fundamentally i feel this sort of skill and service to terminate cells with a connector of choice should also be offered by watch service and phone repair places, like even i can do that with a crimper i got from Iwiss for $12, and i tried even the GH, PH, XH, it's fine, and they should learn to do this as well. The problem i see is making an enclosure which is water resistant but can be disassembled/reassembled easily, but i feel like somebody should just do that regardless. I also feel that there shouldn't be an embedded wire going from the endpiece to the earpiece, instead i'd like to see a connector on the endpiece, but i don't know what connector i'd recommend.

@@SianaGearz Galaxy buds have 58mha batteris and ~260 in the case. A rechargable AAA typically has like 700 so... how could that not power IEMS for a decent amount of time?

@@hypeheadphones Mhm fair. I suppose 60-ish mhA are per ear and good for 6 hours? This makes for about 450mWh. The AAA NiMH have about 850mWh and you can use two, one per end, though in turn those ends are going to be a little heavy and bulky. Though i have noticed that with nicer acoustic tuning i am losing a lot of power efficiency on the earbuds. I think TWS ones are trimmed acoustically fully towards power efficiency with then firmware EQ fixing up the response. Still i get a decent mileage out of a 450mWh total only. Here's another thing, it's cool to have extra standard cells with you that you can pop in anytime, and i would actually buy a product like that, if it doesn't cause comfort issues by going too heavy. I have a smart charger which charges NiMH in about 4 hours, several at a time, i've actually been using the same German made one for nearly 25 years now, this must be my most useful piece of tech long term accounting for its quality. But then you have the problem that people associate AAA cells with low value products, they just won't pay $50 or even $25 for an item like that. And for the same performance lithium ion pouch cells are a lot less weight. At a conservative Vt of 4.2 they can last for upwards of 5 years nowadays (most devices push them to 4.35V for higher nominal capacity but faster degradation) and there's common sizes to make third party replacements super viable. Fast charging Li-Ion is also better than NiMH.

All I want are bluetooth custom In Ears with ANC. Thats all I want. I pay 2000€. Dont care. Just do it. Dont care if its the Fiio behind the ear battery+BT or with a neckband. I dont care. All I want are custom In Ears with BT and ANC. Thats all I need. No, TWIE dont do it, they dont fit my ears, no regular custom IEMs dont do it for isolation enough. No overear headphones with ANC are not enough and also too sweaty riding a bike and in the summer especially. I need everything combined. Cities are loud. All I want is silence in my head when I leave the house. Dont even need to play music. I just want silence. I need custom IEM isolation + Sennheiser/Bose ANC and preferrably with BT. Please. Anyone. I will do anything for it. :(
