Two things: turn a saucer upside down ontop of ice to place your stamper on after each stamp, no water worries. And second, instead of sticking glue rounds on seal, just put a small amount of hot mellted wax on envelope and then press your ready made seal ontop.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like twice the work. Unless she was worried about ruining the envelopes with the hot wax

@@Ronin_Noir the worry is not tge wax. Tge worry is doing a bad seal on the envelope (finished product). By making tge seals seperate you guarantee a perfect seal on each envelope. Once youve done sealing for a while, you pretty much get it right, so only do 1 step process. I like 1 step as it ads character and individuality to the envelopes.

Yes, out of all the videos on wax seals that I have watched, no one has ever added an extra dot of wax to attach the pre made seals to the envelope. I feel like it would be a lot easier than using the double side tape or glue rounds. Plus it costs extra for the glue rounds

Thanks so much for this! I originally was going to make them on the invitation but duh it makes sense to make them in bulk then adhere it afterwards as to not mess up the whole invitation. Thanks so much for a great and thorough video!

@Rachel Rhodes oh wow this was so long ago I honestly don’t remember how I attached them but I want to say a little either hot glue or 3000…I’m willing to bet it was the 3000 glue

I use one of those hard plastic frozen inserts that keep food cool in lunch boxes, rather than the ice. It doesn’t get wet or melt.

Love the Umber color wax. Another tip; use a pat of alcohol rather than ice works as well. Saw this tip in another post.

Do you need wax seals

Maybe buying a small chunk of dry ice to cool down the stamp faster, and colder, and keep it dry. Could work nicely. Just a thought.

Love your video, but it seems so sad to attach a wax seal with glue. Would adding a dab of wax to the back instead of glue work?

I like to put the wax directly to seal the envelope. I like to know that the seal has to be broken to open the letter. Does this method do that? or is it just for decor and it peels off when you open the letter?

How to customise the design in wax stamp

Did this cause you any problems when you went to mail them? I have heard a lot of people having to buy additional postage

Is this your own wax stamp design? I want to have my own designs to sell but struggling to find a place who custom makes these for shops. The only ones I have found do custom jobs for over £50 and many shops sell their own to customers for around £10-30. Not sure where to look!

Hi Jan, thank you for the kind comment! Yes, this is just marble tile purchased from Home Depot. I use it as a temporary background surface for videos, just set the tiles over a table top. But I’m sure you could make it more permanent and it would make a beautiful craft room table top!

Did these take a long time to make? I really like the color you chose, it looks vintage but a little different

Thanks for watching! It took me abut about 90 minutes to make 70 seals. It is a bit time consuming but the process is so satisfying and relaxing!!

how many stamps can you get out of one stick?

can wax paper be used instead of parchment paper

How can I remove the wax from gun? I want to make another colours stamps and I can do it because the first colour is not disapear.

I saw in another video a person used normal gluesticks to push out the remaining wax before switching to their new color. (The first few of the new color may have some glue in it but after that theyre good to go)

and now you can open that envelope since glue doesn't stick to wax nearly as good as it does to paper so someone will be stuck with that tape on paper and will have to cut it or rip the envelope

Great video! Where can I purchase the sticky rounds that you used to attach the seals to the envelopes? The ones you used looked much stronger than most double sided tape or rounds. Thank you

They say using normal glue stick would help push that colour off but your next wax colour would have a little bit of glue

How do i finish the wax fully to be able to put another wax color into the glue gun without having mixed color seal?

Put normal glue in the gun and let that run out untill you can get a normal color

Post office will not take wax sealed letters right?

The post office will accept wax sealed letters, however, the sorting machines can remove/damage the seals. To get around this, you can pay a little extra per letter to have them hand stamped instead of going through any machines. Hope this helps!!

Not sure if you still want information on this. Like Amanda said, you can mail wax seals but they have the chance of getting damaged. BUT you can only mail modern wax which dries flexible. The traditional wax was used for tamper proofing and is too brittle and not allowed to be mailed. If you want to use traditional wax or have extra protection for your wax seals you can place the envelope with the wax seal inside of a clear envelope and put the postage on the outside envelope.
