Something that might be worth touching on, maybe in a future video, is what to do with all those cut parts. When you cut out the arches, you were left with some pretty large sized pieces of foam. One idea I can think of would be to then rip those parts into skinnier segments than the arch walls, to create doors. Maybe then add a vertical cut on the door to turn it into a set of double doors. Could add some wood plank sort of effect to make some nice looking wooden doors.

10:00 One thing about house paint is that hardware stores will sometimes sell small tester pots full of it. Like if they made a batch for a customer to take home, but it didn't get used. So they sell them for very cheap. I've gotten pots like these in a variety of colors for 50 cents at Home Depot in the past. They've been invaluable during my terrain projects, where I can't/don't want to use spray primers or Mod Podge. Those testor pots are likely to last me for years.

Big fan of this type of content. Fast, Cheap, Easy, but looks perfectly good enough. My imagination can be used to fill in the rest. This whole series is excellent.

Highly modular projects like this really show off your genius for this stuff. Thanks for all the inspiration you bring to the hobby.

Oh these are amazing. I can also see easily connecting some archways with cardboard strips to make upper floors and walkways.

PLEASE expand on this. With some floors and something to block some of the arches this is a complete table/system

Be really easy to whack together some wooden floors that overhang just a bit into the arches to make a full modular ruin system. I think I'm gonna do that...

You know, with a few additions, you could make a pretty cool aquaduct system. Just using two pieces of even the dollar store foam core with a strip on either side of the top to making a wider spread that allows traversal on either side of the trench part. I keep wanting to make a few pieces that I can set up to cross the table for some games. But for something simple, I might consider gluing heavier washers under the bottom of each arch on the bottom just to add a bit more weight there.

I've been binging your videos recently. Painting a Kill Team, got some buddies who want to play Frostgrave, so I'm cranking terrain out now. Built some of your modular ruin walls with EVA foam, going to try some MDF panels with your caulking/roller trick tonight. Looks like these ruins will be next on my list! Keep it up, man. Based on some of your previous builds, I could not help but think to add magnets so you could stack at will, 1 - 2 - 3 stories, this would also save space for storage.

I also like the versatility of these because of the sheer number of archways. Could have ramps that lead up and platforms that span across the bottoms of the archways, not even mentioning how easy it is to see models through the gaping holes in the walls.

These look great and make me want to get a Proxon foam cutter. Then the more practical side makes me wonder if a similar project can be done with cardboard? I see some experiments with crafting in my future.

I would try square holes, a Sharp blade and many thin Cuts.

Magnets inside them to keep them stacked for tall walls. Or blue tac.

I know those are from your aqua build but I like that you covered the original build so thoroughly. Its too bad there is not way to 'Skin' a build. Like you could do magnets, then slap on some cyberpunk caution paint or grim dark elements or underwater stuff. I wonder if there are tiny projectors or lights to give a neutral piece like this, a vibe.

I was thinking about pillars for a game the other night. Unless you glue a big base on them stability is always an issue. And then I hit on the idea of empty shotgun shells. 410 and 12ga empties both work. Consistency is excellent and many are even “fluted”! Cut the crimping off, a good coat of grey or white spray and voila!

This is good. Your under water ruins were good but once you glued fish tank stuff onto them it has one use. This has many uses and use that scatter terrain to tie into your world. You could put magnets or even tooth picks to say hang ice sickles or jungle vines drop some tress and jungle ruins.

Marshalls and TJ Maxx if you have those in your location, are great for makeup brushes.

What material did you make the templates out of? Tried a few different things, and either the wire burns them or it gets stuck to the cut in the template. Love your content. Built 4 bloodbowl pitches with acrylic on rubbermat. So happy for that idea.

These remind me of terrain I used to make as a kid from construction foam sheet I used to steal from nearby construction sites, good times!

Hi Great work. With much researching I have froud you channel,however I would like to hide a plane old water tank. Maybe make it look like a Castle, so it is not modelling. I think I can make the product but adding the detail I am not sure. Any help in detailing and painting would be appreciated Thank you

What material are the templates made out of?

Turns out you don't really need to make aqueducts all that wide. The Roman ones were only around 2.5 - 3 feet wide internally and when you add the side walls probably 5 - 6 feet wide. On the tabletop, that would only be an inch or so across. They were taller than they were wide (with a closed top), to make it somewhat possible for people to go inside to maintain them. I think the real trick is just to add a piece on top of the archway to represent the aqueduct, in a way that makes it obvious it's not just part of the archway, but specifically something else.

Now we need a video for using the arched cut out scraps! Lol

yup, medium weight chipboard which is also called matte board. Any dense cardboard paper will work.

They look great on the table, but they don't have much impact on gameplay for many games as they don't really impact movement or line of sight. I'd probably add some floors between the levels, and maybe some bridges that go from structure to structure so that they give a bit of verticality to your play space.

They reduce line of sight way more than you’d expect. If you want complete ground level blockage just make the first level solid.

The Iron Triangle of Project Management: Schedule, Scope, Budget with quality a mitigating factor, pick any two! If you deliver the project quickly and cheaply, then it probably won't be very good. If you deliver it quickly and to a high standard, then it won't be cheap. If you deliver it to a high standard but cheaply, you won't get it very quickly.

The 1" inch sheets are the same time as thicker blocks because you just stack the cuts :)

You’re a legend! I just got my Proxxon for christmas, and this will be my first project using it. Love all your content; keep killin’ it!

It's a nice and easy design. The only problem i personally have with it is that it seems the models can't quite interact with it. You hide behind the column, that's it. Has anyone come up with ideas?

Honestly there was a local place called:"Beef and Burger" , then when it was passed to the next owner, they had a "farmer's skillet breakfast meal" , then the tradition of all 3 failed with the next owner.
