Bruh, this guy is has the best tutorial beats ever. Usual when it's a tutorial the beats sound tacky but this guy usually has great beats.

i always really like his beats.. i really liked the samples he put together... wasnt feeling the drums though and i usually like all of the drums he does but he definitely explains it well and his channel is a really good resource for producers of all genres

I've noticed old movie soundtracks also work very well for this style, especially stuff composed by Herbie Hancock

A lot of old shows from the 60's too madlib used
I think reversed samples will do a good job to achieve that creepy vibe and unique-sounding type of beat

5:52 if your a Reason user then there are hundreds of Hiphop drum loops already chopped like this in the Rex player device you can slow sections, reverse them pich them. You can put the loop to midi same as in this video and move stuff about.

Navie has helped me learn more about production than any other channel, I love how he explains everything, it just Makes sense.
@3:03 I've used this technique in tracks in the past and i was always self-conscious about doing it... thinking it would just cause phase/mix issues or that it was in some ways "redundant". It makes me happy to know that my intuitions on this technique are actually valid! Some samples already have a bass that works but just need the low end separated and enhanced. Thanks for the great tutorials as always!
The first sample sounds like a Ennio Moricone spaghetti western soundtrack. Especially A Fistful of Dollars or For A Few Dollars More. Well done! I wanna do another boom bap beat myself one day 😄
More of these videos please! This was so clear, and the beat sounds mad
You're awesome Navie! Thanks for helping us!
I’m so excited for this one !
Thank you for your help Navie i’ve been improving by the day and see results
Thank you Mr. D. One of my favorite genres. Happy Holidays!

Fumes the threat is a beast boombap producer 🔥🔥
I ain’t know karim benzema can cook beats🤯🔥🔥
you are a crack you have to make more videos of this style of boom bap (dark / underground / hard / grimey / old school). I always rewatch them lol. Thank you for so much, sorry for so little 🙌🙌❤❤
Buena xorooooo!!! Puro qe qeria video nuevo tuyo!!!
gracias benzema ahora se hacer boom bap
I’m a fan of your work and I was wondering where do you get your samples from
so cool
I'd never thought Benzema would one day have the time to make some music tutorials on youtube with a professional football life
Navie the Canadian goat
The sample reminds me of Diana by Armani Caesar. Dope beat!
Man these are gems. For real!! I wish some on these idiotic KZread “beat makers” like Ave or Bolo would watch and break things down like this.

Ave is just that a "beat maker" not a producer he doesn't have enough knowledge to break down what he's doing
duuuuuude!!! those minor details and the way he explains it with much precision!!!! it's always cool to have someone doing tutorials like this....

thanks benzema
the pig got me lol i love you dawg
Can you do a video on how to get clearance on using samples like this so I can use it to for beats to lease?
I had to pause after the pig metaphor because that is the most insane comparison I've ever heard lol
Do you have a video on how to loop?
I use Reason 5:52 This sort of sample edit is easy with Rex player and the included Hiphop beat loops from stock sound bank.
HARDDDDDD
That first sample you said to avoid using was used in one of my favorite recent underground rap songs 😅
This is easily the best tutorial I’ve seen on how to do Madlib/underground beats. This also looks like it took forever to make
benzema truly the goat

Idk if you use this technique but after getting all my chops in serato I'll consolidate all the midi chops into wave files to make them easier to work with later

som maravilhoso show
Where in the sweet bejungas do you find so fine samples? It may take me days of very random searches to find one as good as these. 😅
Thanks Benzema ;) (no hate comment man vid was great)
Check out "Hiob & Morlockk Dilemma - Apokalypse Jetzt"! Took 1 second to notice that first Sample. Love IT!
Is there a video where he talks about compression and mixing for boom bap?
I stopped at 1:14 , I LOVE bacon & Navie just said I could MARRY it!? Tutorial over... boosted my confidence awlready! hahaha!
Im used to using slicer do you have a tutorial on serato sample?? I couldnt never get the hang of it

Best of luck on your rapping my friend
Bro I used that sample a few years ago !!!!!!
Maybe I'm trippin and it's just a cartoon to you but I got chills when I heard how DOOM flipped the Scooby Doo
Dont get me wrong but these samples are very familiar from Kayra's albums. He is one of my all time fav mc from Turkey. I think he is a very underrated mc so if u inspired from him please share him with your subs. Sample 2 is from "Ne yapacağını bilen var mı?". Sample 3 is from "Kör Karanlık".
Do you have some sort of way/technique to know the key to tune different samples for them all cooperate the same? Used to play keys alongside the sample to try and guess the scale but it usually just came off not in key
It amazes me that you can start a beat without drums. I always have to start with drums
Micro sampling is also great technique for boom bap
🤙💯🔥
Also what about effects and processing? Madlib's beats have that unique presende because of the processing
