Hi there! It sounds like your recording levels may be too low, try increasing the input gain on your RodeCaster Pro 2 or adjusting the levels within Final Cut Pro to enhance the audio quality.
Hey! If you don't mind me asking, what microphone is used in the outro? The sound is really deep and crisp, it really is a dream sound. Can it be achieved with Rødecaster Pro 2 without post processing? Thank you

I’ve just got the Duo to use with my podmic which have the fabric pop filter sleeves on but I’m wondering if they actually dull the sound as opposed to using a circle external filter. I also noticed your positioning of the pod mic, going to try all this of thank you so much. Looking forward to recording my next show with the new gear and help from yourself 🙏 🫡

Experimenting with the Duo pop filter sleeves on your PodMic might affect the sound's brightness compared to an external circular pop filter. Try both options and see what you think.

@@MikeRussell Hey Mike, You have confirmed my suspicions, I thought they were making them sound a little dull 🙏 I must get some of the other type asap, Thank you for the videos, They have been really helpful. 👍
what are your thought on this mic with the ROde WS2 windscreen? Do you need to add a bit more gain when using the Rode Podmic with a windscreen vs without? Seems like my gain has to be pushed up to 55 and when I look at my multi track files, in my DAW (Logic Pro) they are very low volume. Yet my final Stereo mix file is perfect.
@MikeRussell
Жыл бұрын
There's no one answer. Obviously a windscreen will have an effect, as will a pop shield but they're all different
Great video! Is it easy to reduce echo with this setup if you don't have the perfect studio?
@MikeRussell
9 ай бұрын
Yes, reducing echo is easier with the RodeCaster Pro 2 and PodMic setup, as it includes built-in processing tools like a noise gate that would help in this case.
I have a question: I know you make stereo -16 LUFS and mono -19LUFS but what do you do if your podcast has stereo parts and mono parts in it? Thank you.
@MikeRussell
Жыл бұрын
Your file will be stereo as the previously mono will be mixed down as dual mono. The final podcast should hit -16LUFS

Hi Mike! Awesome channel your tips have been invaluable, I wanted to ask: if im producing a podcast but I don’t participate (basically I run the technical part they just talk) how can I monitor their sound with the Rodecaster pro 2? Is there a dedicated line out for headphones? Thank again!! Cheers

Hi Mike, I have the same setup, podmic with a duo, with the same settings, and my ending audio doesn't sound at all as clean as yours. I'm recording in a non treated room but decent and quiet. I export it with -16 Lufs and the noise floor is quite high which is a surpirse for me. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or it's something with the mixer, etc. I presume you didn't remove noise, his, etc in post, right?
@MikeRussell
8 ай бұрын
Hey there! Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your setup. It's possible that room acoustics could be affecting your recording quality, and it's always a good idea to experiment with different mic placements or consider adding some acoustic treatment to your recording space. Regarding the noise floor, make sure to check the gain settings on your RodeCaster Pro 2 and ensure they are optimised for the PodMic. Also remember, using a noise gate or noise reduction plugin during post-production can help minimise any unwanted background noise. Keep experimenting and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions!
I got my volume all the way up on the casterduo. And using neutral option. And i sound lake a bot. After I recorded the video. My seating is at 50. Already play up and down. Any advice. Thank u.

Trying to run this through a Roland vr-1HD. Tried it with gain up and main volume boosted but it’s decently noisy when no one is talking. Tried also with a Fethead but didn’t help much. Is it simply noisy pre-amps on the VR1-HD?
