Today we bring we show you how to make the Lemon Drop Cocktail. It was invented in the 1970s by Norman Jay Hobday, the founder and proprietor of Henry Africa's, a fern bar in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. This is an easy Lemon cocktail that is simple and tastes great. Try the lemon drop cocktail and let us know what you think.

LEMON DROP MARTINI
2 oz/60 ml vodka
1 oz/30 ml Simple Syrup
1 oz/30 ml Triple Sec
1 oz/30 ml Lemon Juice
Method
1. Add all ingredients into the Shaker.
2. Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
3. Rim martini glass with a mixture of Lemon zest and Sugar.
3. Fine strain into rimmed glass.
4. Garnish with a Lemon peel.

I love lemon and with Summer upon us this would be a great drink to enjoy during get togethers. I’ve never seen anyone add the lemon zest to the sugar. That’s a great idea! One that I’ll be using from now on w- not only lemons, but oranges and limes as well. Thank You for all the great videos.

I love the Lemon Drop cocktail. I never thought to add lemon zest to the sugar, that is a fantastic idea! Gonna try that next time I make one. I always put my coupe glasses in the freezer after rimming them with sugar. Not only is the freezing glass perfect for this cocktail, it sort of solidifies the sugar so it doesn't run down the glass as it sweats.

I do like the idea of chilled glassware, however I generally don't for filming purposes so everyone can see exactly what is happening.

Love this bartender. Fabulous cocktails so well made. The demonstrations are superb! Love watching them! I get great idea for cocktails and I am really in to learning how to make fabulous cocktails! The Lemon Drop is so delicious!!

I buy Hiram Walker triple-sec. It comes in 30 and 60 proof. I prefer the 60. It will kick your butt!!

Sorry about that. In my earlier videos I used to have my ingredients written out on a big board and my wife would point to stuff form me, I have gotten much better at presenting.

Will this drink work using any other alcohol? I love lemon but don;t like vodka.

You could do this with a gin. But ut it will give you some juniper undertones. You could use a rum too. but can give you some other flavours that may not mix well.

For guy making drink video- why no real sugar salt rimmer… instead of using plates… the word floaties… doesn’t bring anything pleasant to mind

Good question. Not every one has a salt/sugar rimmer. the average person will use a plate. or a cutting board. Just make sure what ever surface you are using is clean.
