How to make cheese straws WITHOUT a recipe😳 1lb cheese, I’m guessing 1 cup of butter since you had 2 wax paper butter wrappers in your hand but, then it’s just paprika, cayenne, salt & apparently about 3 cups of flour??? What the heck? Not even I’m the “more” part?

In India, we add white sesame seeds to the batter before heating. Also, one hack is to coat the inside on the press with oil to make it smooth, already make dough into cylindrical shape before putting in.

Greetings from Bangalore, India. The cheese straws look very nice. I have never made them but would like to make for my cheese loving young grandsons. I wish you had given the clear recipe for this though, as in all the good explanation you have given, you seem to have forgotten to mention the quantities except for cheese. The cookie press that you use is exactly similar to a press we have here, which we use to make a traditional savoury snack called “chakli”. It is in fact called a chakli press. It is not hard to fill the dough into it. We just roll the dough by hand into cylinders about the length and diameter of the press, and slide it into the chamber of the press. Very lightly greasing the inside of the chamber helps. That’s easy. The press comes with multiple discs which have different sizes of holes which helps in making chakli s...in this case straws...in different designs and sizes. Thanks for the video.

I don't have a cookie press. I'm going to be using a Ziploc bag with a large cake icing tip. I think that will work well.

Roll them in small logs and cut them into coins. Just keep an eye on them so they are golden and not brown.

I donated my Mirro cookie press to a church thrift store near me because I didn't use it anymore. I was friendly with the woman who ran it. I'd find little treasures I could use, so the next time I went there, she told me that cookie press whas on the shelf maybe twenty minutes before an elderly woman snatached it up & said hers got lost in a move years ago & she'd been looking ever since. Cheers my heart that somebody was happy to have it & wiil use it!😊

I was in a hurry and did use extra sharp shredded cheese. I took 2 tablespoons of the flour out and added about 2 T. water to the dough. It was a really stiff dough but they were devoured. I'll make sure to keep the blocks on hand in the future.
