The worst part is everybody telling everybody they should be looking up. During a solar eclipse you should be looking down and around, You should be listening and observing what's going on. There is so much more happening than what's in the sky.
I am in Canada and it was completely cloudy I saw absolutely nothing besides 50 min before totality hit.

The numbers have been crunched, there was a small crowd, only at best 200,000 people a far scream from over 1 million .. the number cruncher needs to find a new career 😂 as should the weatherman, cloudy in Niagara during the eclipse. No state of emergency and crappy clouds left a lunch bag let down. In my an hour and a half drive from Niagara we had full eclipse and only 1 cloud blew over during the event. We had a great experience, to think it won’t be back for another 144 years, that’s 7 generations of our descendants to be here to see it!
Top notch journalists here

@@donhaddix3770 It's nowhere near opaque enough. The ISO 12312-2 standard for eclipse glasses states that they should transmit no more than 0.0032% of visible light. While wearing them, you shouldn't be able to see anything but very intensely bright objects like the sun or an incandescent/halogen light filament. You may remove them while the sun is fully occluded to view the corona.

It can damage your eyes because you're still looking directly at the sun, and even if the sun is 99% blocked, staring directly at it can damage your eyes.
