How to Make Simple Door Pods (Part 1)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Building Door Pods and other custom items in a vehicle can be done easily when you can copy a particular shape using a router bit. You can then use this initial shape to create insert templates to then complete the custom item. In this video I show you how using the Sonus Fit Kit and UPC bit along with the Mobile Solutions Bit Tray Kit you can create some awesome custom door panels for your car audio speakers

CarAudioFabrication - The Secrets of Car Audio Revealed

Why are guys bitching about tools? He used a router. If you don't own a router you're probably not handy enough to make these. I got a router with a table on sale at Sears for $80.
I have been in the car audio industry for over 20 years and here I am learning some more great tips from your videos.Great job they are perfect, respects.
SIMPLE MY ASS !!!!!! This guy is the 007 of the system world lol !!
You truly are an audio installation artist. I wish I knew someone like you to hand over my car to make a nice audio setup here in Italy. Cya!

tankjr85 I am sure there are some great shops in Italy, just need to find them! Best of luck, thanks for watching!
Every video keeps getting better. Thanks for contributing to the knowledge of the car audio community.
Really love these videos! Makes taking on these types of builds more manageable!!!
You know….. anytime someone does something well in particular manufacturing something from scratch … it’s just fun to watch.
Mark is a scientist when it comes to car audio fabrication
Dude, you're a badass. All of your vids are top notch and very inspirational to watch. Too many ideas now!!
Awesome video... Thanks for all the hard work on making these videos, really helps everyone out a lot. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to making mine soon...
Excelent video as usual! So many great techniques and such. I had no idea there was a single stage resin for fiberglass. I think a standard UV light would probably work good for setting the resin while inside? I got lucky that you chose this style of Chevy door pod I guess. It is exactly the style I was looking for instead of the usual huge fleece and ring type. You have all the coolest tools man.
Very nice! Was glad to see the Fit Kit demo also. I understood how it worked but it's nice to see it. Thanks man.

Lathan Hites No problem! It saves the use of foam tape like I have shown in the past and is much more precise.
Thanks for the tips. Made my custom install way easier.
Mark, love your channel. Really appreciate all the hard work that you put into these videos. Quick question for you....I am just getting into car audio, and I am overwhelmed by how many companies, speakers, amps, processors, and other equipment is now available. If you had $1000 for just audio equipment, what would you get? (For a real simple sound quality system...nothing for SPL.) thanks! Take care.
Hey I've actually done something similar like this for the front actually without all the fancy stuff. Used Bondi to fill in that gap. Came out great. Love your channel

I've been digging your video series, and have implemented several of your ideas into my 74 LSA supercharged Corvette. Have you ever had any luck vinyl wrapping a pillar gauge pod? (or how to get the grain look) ThankS!
Love the vids bro keep them coming. ...
Would you suggest angling the speakers so they’re aiming at the listener?
Awesome video! When I die I’m coming back as you! Keep on making these videos!
Looks so simple yet he explained it so complicated

I started off with a jigsaw. Couldn’t do anything fancy like this, but it’s a start!! Simple and cheap at first, complaining won’t solve anything.
This gave me ideas how to get my Polk 6x9s into the front doors of my 01 Yukon now I just have to find someone than can do the woodwork? I don’t have all the tools to do it myself.
Good old-school!
Great video as always. ? Which program do u use to test ur box designs? port velocity
Awesome video and great detail
How do you make a bigger door pod to hold more speakers? Say 5 or 6.
Awesome Awesome video man!! really looking forward to more!!

Hey Mark. Can you show us a quick vid on using a single bearing flush trim bit to do the mesh from the door. I'm afraid I'm going to mess up. Cause I just cant hack $200 bucks for that bit being I'm not a shop fabricator- just personal home use type.
OK love the videos !!! But how about an 2000 Ford Excursion for door pods ?
If your using a hart adjustable wrench watch out they tend to slip of the nut or bolt very easy and smash knuckles
have you did any door pods for a 04 -10 chevy colorado yet ?

Any ideas for HHR speakers boxes in back , using back side windows
What router table and tools do you use? What brand? Thank you!
damn that is a nice POD, yes you make it look simple. I will buy a pair for front and back for 6.5 Focal no tweets, with a Focal plexiglass custom piece on above the 6.5 speaker.
Love the videos, I know this is an old one but I'm going to be making some pods for my 00 silverado. Do you have a link to that stacked bearing bit you're using? I tried double stacked bearing flush trim bit and it was not working at all lol
This is awesome, but in which multiverse is this simple? I would like to visit it.
Can u add a link for the upc bit u are using I cannot find one with 4 bearings like that. Only 2 bearings. I have an 04 tahoe and would like to copy the grill like that.
vid was awesome, so many tricks,
Hey mark, are you still using the portacable router you made the video on? Just asking because I would like to try this, I have a 02 escalade that has the same grill and going to purchase a router just want to make sure u haven't upgraded it and if you have, what model so I can get 1 i already ordered mobile solutions router bit sets

Yet everyday I have people sending me pics of what they built. Most of them aren't the type of people that look to find excuses why they can't do something. Everything shown in this video can be done with basic tools.

What's the point of this if you don't show how you attached the piece to the door panel?
@bobbg9041
7 жыл бұрын
Screws with large flat washers. you want to try and keep the original door panel in tact. But other then that its just Eye candy because a 6.5 will fit that door without this panel added on.
Hey. Sell me those!
😜
Buy a CNN router table will save a lot of time and time = $$$$$
He says simple,HAHA
You shud just make em and sell them I wud buy it make one for my g35? I'll pay you 150 for both doors.
