HOW TO MAKE SETTERS FOR CONIBEAR TRAPS
This took me about 10 min to make and its very strong. Use a 1/4 bolt and nut and a 1/4 drill bit. I made this because I wanted something that felt safe in my hands. I didn't like the aluminum one so I went with steel. Going to put 2 rubber grips on it for a firm hold when using one hand.

Your welcome. I still have these. I do like them alot better than the ones you buy. Nice long handle for easy press. My hands are not what they use to be. Cheers RH
I had aluminum just like that , so I made mine from it. Works slick ! Cost me pennies to make too.
Thanks, I am going to make a set of those.
Yes it is, but I liked the steel better. It is a lot stronger and don't bend out when setting the trap. For me it feels safer in my hands and weight is not much different. Thanks for helping us out with the trapping and the new boards. :)
Good idea...
Really a good job

Rabbit Hunter No handles,? Use an old pieces of garden hose and slide them in the ends. Rubber is not so cold on your hands, plus it;s more comfortable.. Just an idea

Cool I like how you drew a heart to make the notches I haven't trapped in over 40 years I used to set 110. conibears as a kid recently bought a couple of Duke 110s and they are a bugger to set
Thanks
thanks
That divot is called a center punch
I just made this but the flat bar steel needs to be fairly thick. I used 1/8" flat bar and when i went to test it on my 220 it the flat bar twisted and bent out of shape. likely need 1/4" thick flat bar. maybe the rope method is better lol
