HOW TO MAKE SECRET WOOD RINGS (NO POWER TOOLS) Tutorial polymer clay resin craft diy

💜💜CHECK OUT The Sweeter Side channel (from mycupcakeaddiction): / @thesweeterside
In this week's polymer clay and resin tutorial, learn how to make this Fake wood resin ring DIY. This project requires no power tools! It's quite fun and easy to make. You can make your own mold or buy a ring mold online. This ring is inspired by the "secret wood rings" that have been made by so many wood-workers. I wanted to make my own wood ring, but with an easier method! This is the easiest way how to make a ring that looks as mystical and straight out of a fantasy realm.
If you want to check out the resin I used, you will find it here: goo.gl/iAIwJs
Materials used:
- Amazing Mold Maker (brand) for the mold
- Sculpey clay
- Sophie and Toffee UV Resin
- food coloring or UV resin colorant

Many of you are asking about when I baked the "wood" ring. I baked it IN the mold after making the jagged texture for 25 minutes. The mold maker I use is oven-safe, so once the wood-looking clay is in the mold and you made the texture that's when you bake it 😘 hope this clarifies 💚

I have been watching tons of videos on how to do the resin wood rings, I adore them but they require, like you said power tools. Your rings are so awesome and much easier to make. Thanks Jackie!!

'If you drop it, just forgive yourself and just keep going.' XD This is why I love your channel! A lot of diy-ers don't like showing their mistakes or fumbles (although they're catching on) but you've always encouraged originality and human-ness, and you do it in such a kind, non-scripted way. Keep crafting! Your tutorials always bring my day a little more peace and smiles.

The world of plolymer clay is so awesome! I'm an art framer by trade, but dabble in many of the arts. The things I've been seeing made from clay and how they are made, just fascinates the hell out of me! Stumbled across your how-to on a search for dragon wings. So yay! New fan :) Not that I'll get to it because my lists of stuff to make or try is so long, but I'd like to use this technique for some drop earrings. Faux wood drops with the crystal at the bottom. Maybe 1.5 inches drop length. Or a pendant. My brain sees stuff and instantly starts breaking down colors or patterns to figure out application method so I can apply it to other stuff. But the polymer clay...I'm wrong almost every time on how I think it's done. So, TY for your time and sharing. You're also pretty funny, TY too for brightening my day.

I love the way your rings turned out. I also like this way of doing it better. This is something anyone can easily do. I watched another youtuber make this but he had power tools and it was really hard to follow his steps. Yours is simple and easy and looks just as nice. And you have a lot more freedom and can create a look that you like. I love your videos so much. You make them very enjoyable to watch and make the steps easy to follow. Thank you. 👍😊❤

And knowing that when I comment you actually read them makes it even better. Like before I started watching your videos I was never really into crafting because other people's videos were so hard to follow or you had to have so many materials. But yours are just amazingly perfect in every way. ❤❤😊

Wowie this looks amazing. I'm so happy you mentioned about baking the wood ring in your comments, I'm using the same brand of mold maker and was working with polymer clay too-but I was afraid the mold would melt or something if I try to bake it! I tried looking for anything on the instructions and packaging that would say something along baking or heat-related but I couldn't, or maybe I missed it. Thank you so much! I can't wait to make my own ring too!
