bro you should do a video where you solely explain how to chop samples and sync them on beat, this process can be frustrating and some chops start sounding faster than the others some are slower, would be a dope video!

I suggest using Ableton if you wanna make sample based stuff, it’s very simple and easy getting it on beat takes a few clicks

Busy works studio channel has great tutorials for learning to chop and set samples to tempo..there are many different ways in fl to sample so it just depends on what style works for you.. I normally dont do my chops in the playlist like this guy but it works

(Sorry bad english) In fl studio, use edison to slice your own chops and drag them to slicex where you can pitch and tempo change them(pitch up or down untill the tempo matches your project bpm) or select a longer part of the song you want to sample en chop en drag that to fruity slicer, set slice to beat en you got your chops where you can pitch en tempo them individualy. Bad explaining but hope someone can use this info

me personally I chop it at every kick and snare to get it on beat perfectly , I don't like to stretch each chop individually like Kavan did cus that'll give you the different tempos and bpms.

interesting tutorial. i personally use a more obscure daw called ACID made by Sony and i can say the learning curve for it is much easier then FL if you just wanna drag and drop samples. i also personally think the kick sounds a bit too synthetic in this case, but its not always a bad thing. i download drum kits all the time and i can say i have the same one lol and something as simple as using a Kanye snare with a tad bit of reverb can make something more flavourful in a amtter of seconds. cool video overall! i can say i sorta found my own way to do a similar production process but this is definately a nice tutorial for anyone that uses FL.

I think you could just do a separate video for non chopping but I would suggest pitching the sample up or down because that’s where you really get into unique melodies. I almost always use a couple of samples that are reversed as well so there is no way possible people can tell what it’s from. I would say that’s part of this entire equation.

hey bro, how do u make it so that u can hear the sample and the drums ur making at the same time? when i have my sample in the playlist i can’t play the channel rack . and when i put my sample in the channel the audio messes up alot

idk if u figured it out yet but once u make pattern in channel rack, select pattern 1 and click it into the timeline ( it will look like a transparent rectangle with the note patterns in it) put it with the sample and make sure that "Song" is selected not "Pat" or "Pattern", its right next to the tempo

For anyone new who to this they new a specific software and an Akai such screen Mpc it’s all bullshit. Pads that feel more realistic is irrelevant because no matter what you make you need to go back and quantize. Maybe not for the sample or any specific instrument but I’m telling you those all in one MPcs are not necessary and it’s sad how it’s presented like “you need this to be great” my best track “where I’m from” I produced for bill waves has 270k plays. That beat was made with logic x, a microphone recording piano, and was mixed in my car. You need good software I will say that. I would go logic x, fruity loops, and or ableton. If you go logic x I would get serato sample. Then all you need is the mpd 225 instead of blowing an insane amount of money on gear you will never actually need. Much love.

Hey so Im having a problem, Every time I sample, and I put a 808 its out of tune, and I don't mean the 808 is out of tune I mean the sample is out of tune. And Its so hard to tune the sample perfectly so its in key with the 808. Do you know a fast way to somehow put a sample in key? thx

Prob easier to find the root note of your main sample loop and tune yiur 808 to match the sample rather than vice versa
