How to Make REAL Grenadine at Home (And 3 Cocktails to Use It In!)

In this video, I'll show you how to make the best grenadine at home. Grenadine is a sweet and tart syrup that's often used in cocktails, but it can also be enjoyed on its own.
Pomegranate juice is the key ingredient in grenadine. It gives grenadine its unique flavor and color. Pomegranate juice is also a good source of antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage.
Sugar is the other key ingredient in grenadine. It gives grenadine its sweetness. Sugar can also help to preserve grenadine, so it will last for longer in the refrigerator.
My recipe is so easy to make that you'll never buy store-bought again!
Once you've made your grenadine, I'll show you how to use it to make three delicious cocktails:
----
Tequila Sunrise
2 oz Blanco Tequila
2 oz Orange Juice
0.75 oz Lime Juice
Grenadine Float
---
Scofflaw
1.5 oz Rye Whiskey
1 oz Dry Vermouth
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.5 Grenadine
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
---
Sugar Plum
2 oz Gin
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz Grenadine
--
So if you're looking for a delicious and easy way to make grenadine, or if you're looking for some new cocktail ideas, be sure to check out this video!

Loved this video, because it made me feel good about myself. 1) I've made all my grenadines like you did, I've never had anything store bought. 2) Scofflaw has been one of my favorite drinks for a long time even if I don't think bartenders here in Finland really know about it. I use Rittenhouse as well. 3) The last cocktails is something I will try. Soon. Thanks!

Nice - I really like your update to the Tequila Sunrise. Personally I add some saline solution and a barspoon of agave syrup to bring out the agave notes from the tequila a bit more

Thanks - You motivated me to make some grenadine. Found grenadine molasses on-line for ordering. Looking forward to my Tequila Sunrise (though I suspect I would not use Cazcanes as it is really expensive - perhaps something like a San Matias).

Yo Lui, nice video! I'm super lazy and use Small Hands Grenadine, as it's the best store bought version, in my opinion. By the way, in the Scofflaw, try a Blanc Vermouth instead of the Dry and see if you like it! Cheers!

One thing that's a pretty big miss here. - I'm going to assume that the majority of your audience is home cocktail enthusiast. With that said, a lot of folks are going to copy your recipe to the letter, leaving them with an exorbitant amount of grenadine... Unfortunately there's not long term storage recommendations in this video. You may want to consider adding storage recommendations and times when curating a DIY recipe.
