Yes, still many station of All India Radio are transmitting in Mediumwave frequency. One can find out in google search. Neighbouring Nepal and Bangladesh also used AM Frequency

I seriously miss this radio. Far more better than our smartphone. Those days were like golden. Really great to have seen this. Thanks for sharing.

I still have a radio and a cd player and use them a lot. Admittedly it's FM and DAB here in the UK but the radio beats the TV and phone anyday.

I think the profession of electronics engineer and the people themselves are beautiful electronics technicians here in brazil we have been technicians for almost 65 years i am proud to learn this craft with my father components..here in brazil the radio is cam off the air and the tvhf part too. you're a winner

Dear friend! I live in Brazil, I work since I was 12 years old in technical assistance, I am 40 years old. What they are doing with AM radio in the world is absurd. I'm from Santo Antônio da Patrulha, Rio Grande do Sul and we only have one AM radio in the city that still works and what I hear on it are robotic programming and a program at night where the announcer coughs, sneezes and spits in the air, a real disrespect about what am radio represents for technicians. Strong hug!

A surprisingly straightforward build. It was my first AM radio although I'd already successfully built an FM scanning radio. The coil colours in my kit were not as any video I'd seen but Google came up with the Chinese characters for the colours so it was a simple matter of matching things up. The radio worked first time which I liked. My only tip would be to link out the 'test breaks' in the tracking immediately. Easier to do before fitting the components I found. Air band next for me 😊

Also, the ferrite slugs are very fragile and metal screwdrivers can crack them very easily... a homemade nylon screwdriver is much better ... 😎👍☘️🍺

Don't use metalic screwdriver to adjust IF coils. The metal modifies coils value when adjustig.

Yes definitely, two stage IF radio. Setup the 455 or 465 khz if with the yellow white black cans. The red can is the oscillator, he seemed to be twinkelating in the dark towards the end.

@@andrewagner2035 You got the colors exactly right. Further, the red slug is for the low end osc and the trimmer cap is for the upper end. The other trimmer cap is upper end RF and the bar antenna if used is low end RF. I think most of us could do this in our sleep, like setting up a color CRT which will never happen again.

However, after a lot of passionate reading and self research I've constructed my own AM radio transistorized Superheterodyne pragmatically. My research and experiences and experiments on Crystal Radio Sets have also help a lot in compounding all these exciting talents and fascinating hobby

現在還有這種 6/7石 超外差的收音機套件啊 還真歷久不衰.. 30 40 年前 還在讀 國中,高職電子科時, 我好像買了三四個這類奪件回來黏 其有2台是 FM/AM 的, 一台是手持的失敗.. 一台是橫擺的才成功. 後在雜誌上有看見 用日立IC 的 立體解調電路, 台中的電子材料行 居然有店在賣那顆IC, 就買回家 自己洗電路板 來做.. 居然成功.. 第一次 用AIWA隨身聽附的耳機 享受自己 DIY 的 Stereo .. 爽了好久好久.. 天天跑頂樓陽台 , 因為在室內 訊號不太好 立體會解調不出來..

El unico detalle para calibrar la frecuencia es siempre usar un palillo de madera o plastico el desarmador metalico no es muy bueno y entran interferencias y peor si esta magnetizado cuando ajustas el capacitor variable

Gang capacitor lug gets bend. Please take care . These are the delicate things. When I was in 8th standard I built one MW pocket superheterodyne receiver from a kit. It was a thrill to at that time.

I had repaired many of these sets 50 years ago..during my early 20s..he has to be careful about the placement of the 4 coils..the white color is the oscillator coil for MW..red is first IF coil..yellow is 2nd and black 3rd IF coil followed by detector diode..then preamp followed by driver than audio output and finally the speaker..I can still remember them after such a long time..50 years..plenty of these sets in Malaysia then..

Для такого приёмника необходима хорошая внешняя антенна, иначе максимум что на нём можно будет слушать - это белый шум, местами разбавленный индийскими песнопениями. P. S.:. Музыка в ролике очень грустная, словно чел собирал этот девайс в глубокой депрессии.
