I think it would be better to use 808 kicks than normal ones in pluggnb :D

nice tutorial! honestly, im surprised though with how many names this 'genre' has been given over the years. I've been listening to 'rnb hiphop edm trap' inspired instrumentals since Hudmo & Rustie... and it's been given alot of names; * aquacrunk * 'weird trap' * future bass * ... and now pluggnb

naurrrrr u got it all wrong futurebass and pluggnb are two COMPLETELY different things please go listen to summrs/aututmn then get back to me thank you. summrs - packrunner bitch (1 or 2) autumn - nina ps - this video its like a more yassified kpop version of pluggnb its got its similarities but its not the same, go listen to some kpop flips by ILYPVC for something more similar to this.

it's just that as pluggnb gets more popular outside the underground rap community, the sound just kind of shifts into this. if you listen to artists like corey lingo, summrs, autumn, lil shine, and others you'll hear that the beats don't really sound like the genres you mentioned at all. corey lingo in particular sounds very close to actual rnb since he can actually sing.

@@prodbigdump yeah that be the funny part of course. all those labels didnt really describe the music well at all. of course, someone like hudmo is inspired by so many different genres so he didn't really have one specific genre anyways. hudmo's case is especially unique since at that time og trap was stuff like gucci mane ofc... but also, he clearly loved RnB enough to make annual 'Valentines SlowJam' mixes for an entire decade straight. his first album 'Butter' and now the infamous ep 'Satin Panthers' just clearly got that RnB tone in some of the tracks. this 'pluggnb' seems to have an entirely different historical path for its emergence though which is cool. honestly, there seems to be alot of underrated RnB in general to pull inspiration from.

@@benjames9158 generally speaking producers "usually" don't really add kicks to 808s since the 808 has a transient itself and as well pluggnb doesn't really need that "punch" kicks have to cut through the mix ( •̀ ω •́ )y

@@benjames9158 there is no purpose for it, like i said before in pluggnb you don't really need to duck anything since the 808 should only be the low end. It makes sense to use sidechain again like in the remix but for general pluggnb it just sounds "not right" if you actually use sidechain. As well as that some producers layer kick drums on 808s on purpose to make them clip making them hit harder (*^▽^*)

+ the drums are way too trap/edm, the idea is that the drums are soft like subs without kicks, lowpass claps, loud snares maybe, its still good but this sounds more like a tiktok future bass beat with a little of pluggnb
