I usually have to go to a Salvadorian restaurant to get my fried plantain fix. One restaurant I go to has a breakfast plate of fried over easy eggs, refried beans with queso fresco and fried plantains with Salvadorian crema. I'm Mexican American, so I never grew eating plantains, but I love them. Thanks for posting, I just subscribed to your channel.

I had a plantain and made platanos maduros watching Margaret's video. Thanks so much for posting. ❤My response to those worried about calories and artery clogging ingredients--eat lettuce. Some Americans get fat because they eat too much processed food. Sugar is not bad you. Eating too much is. Home cooking done right and daily exercise is the key. Colonialism and capitalism and corporate farming ruined eating farm to table or garden to table.

My father served in the military in panama canal zone before I was born in 1955. My sister was born on the military base. My father told me that if ever I can eat this delicious Panamanian dessert called fried plantains, I should do it. He loved that dessert. He said he has seen it made with bananas, but it’s not the same…Totally different fruit.
