    You make this look so easy. Your hands are so practiced at this :-D. I am sitting here, drinking my early morning coffee, thinking about me trying to even tie the "Mathew Walker Knot" when I try to make these reins and envisioning how badly I can mess that up LMAO. Thank you so very much for these awesome videos. You are very talented. LOVE it!

  • @Peacedonkeys

    hi Bunnita, you could start with 8 strands, tie your knot, with just a few inches hanging over the clip, then braid to the end, and do the same knot on your clip at the other end. You would have to weave the ends back through your work. Just an idea. All the best with it.

I think they are 20 feet to get the 5 foot result, but I want to be sure since you just said lots and lots of paracord and the description just says 80 feet of paracord. Hi! If i want to use this technique for a 6ft dog leash how many ft of cord do I need? Thank you!

  • @sandrinelecours892

    @sandrinelecours892

    3 жыл бұрын

    I was wondering the same! I calculated (according to her measurements) that a 6ft leash = 96ft which means 4 strands of 24ft for each colours (so 8 strands total). But are the 16 additional inches enough to make a nice handle? I don’t think so... as she says at the beginning: “For every 12inches of rein, you need 4 strands that are 4ft each.” But, the problem is, we are probably not going to use the same knot for the handle... so I guess that depending on the technique used, the measurements are going to change..

  • @Peacedonkeys

    @Peacedonkeys

    5 жыл бұрын

    hi Vivian, you could start with 8 strands, tie your knot, with just a few inches hanging over the clip, then braid to the end, and do the same knot on your clip at the other end. Only problem is you either need to trim up the knot on each clip which looks a bit odd,, or you could have dangly cords on each clip, which would be ok if you had a 'western' type look like the American cowboys/cowgirls have with their fringes and dangly cords everywhere. Just an idea.

  • @Peacedonkeys

    @Peacedonkeys

    hi Olivia, you can use this same method for a lead rope. This is for 5 foot, so if you want a 7 and half foot lead rope, just add on half the amount of cords listed, or if you want a 10 foot lead, then double the amount of cords etc. a lead rope is really just a rope with a clip on the end, in this case with paracord over the top, so this would work well if you want a paracord lead rope.. all the best with it.
