How to make PANANG CURRY from scratch | Koh Samui, Thailand

After all the island hopping, we're staying home for a change! We picked a few coconuts from our neighbour's farm to make fresh coconut milk that will go in our authentic panang curry. Everything made from scratch, but was it worth it? Watch to find out!

That is a delicious looking panang curry. When it comes to preparing curry from scratch, it really does take up a lot of time. Like whenever my mom prepares curry for dinner, depending on the number of mouths to feed, she will usually start preparing all the ingredients including the meat from mid morning. Keep the awesome content coming. Stay safe you two.

This is not Panang curry paste at all. I think this curry paste is a chili paste for Kanom Jeen, southern sauce. Curry powder, turmeric And Krachai (finger root) is not put in Panang curry paste. Turmeric is only added to the southern curry paste. And Krachai(finger root) will be put in curry paste for making Kanom Jeen Panang curry paste is just Dried chilli, coriander root, roasted coriander seeds, garlic, shallot, pepper seed, roasted fennel, kaffir lime skin, galangal, lemongrass, salt And what is indispensable for chili paste is shrimp paste, it does not stink and is an essential ingredient in almost every curry paste. As for how to do it, you do it right. Just what you put in curry paste is a little wrong.😁😁🙏🙏 นี่ไม่ใช่พริกแกงพะแนงเลย ผมว่าพริกแกงอันนี้มันคือพริกแกงสำหรับขนมจีนน้ำยาของภาคใต้ ผงกะหรี่,ขมิ้น และกระชาย ไม่ได้เป็นส่วนประกอบในพริกแกงแพนง ขมิ้นจะใส่เฉพาะพริกแกงใต้ และกระชายจะใส่ในพริกแกงสำหรับทำขนมจีน พริกแกงแพนงจะมีแค่ พริกแห้ง,รากผักชี,เมล็ดผักชีคั่ว,กระเทียม,หอมแดง,พริกไทยเม็ด,ยี่หร่าคั่ว,ผิวลูกมะกรูด,ข่า,ตะไคร้,เกลือ และที่ขาดไม่ได้สำหรับพริกแกงเลยคือ กะปิ กะปิมันจะไม่เหม็นถ้าใส่ในพริกแกงและเป็นส่วนประกอบสำคัญแทบจะทุกพริกแกงเลยขาดไม่ได้ ส่วนวิธีการทำคุณทำถูกแล้ว แค่สิ่งที่คุณใส่ในพริกแกงมันผิดนิดนึงนะคับผม😁😁🙏🙏 ขอโทษสำหรับภาษาอังกฤษของผม และคอมเม้นต์ที่ยาวเหยียดนิดนึงนะคับ แค่เห็นแล้วตกใจกับสูตรพริกแกงนิดหน่อยเพราะที่ผมเรียนและทำมาไม่ใช่แบบนี้5555🙏🙏😁🤣

Hi Nutt, thanks for sharing your knowledge! You're right, I did some research online and the ingredients aren't a true Panang curry paste 😅 I followed the recipe from a Chiang Mai cooking school we went to.. it tasted amazing when we made it there so that's why we made it again at home. Maybe next time I can remove some of the other ingredients and see how the flavour is like as a true panang curry paste. Hope the video was still enjoyable to watch :)

@@FloraandNote I forgot one more ingredient. That's roasted peanuts. Panang curry, it is a curry with red color. But your curry paste with Turmeric and Finger root. But not add curry powder, roasted peanut, coriander root and seed. It is used for yellow curry or Kaeng som (Sour soup). The curry paste you have learned can make another curry. Just use this curry paste, boil it in water. And put meat like Fish or tilapia, cut into pieces Or popular in this curry is shrimp and follow with vegetables such as cauliflower and Thai morning glory (When adding meat, do not stir the pot It will make it fishy) when the meat is cooked, you put tamarind juice and salt, after boiling, turn off the heat. And squeeze a little bit of lime into it and done. This curry is called Kaeng Som. You get one more menu, easy to make And definitely super delicious 😁🙏
