My unit worked for a while but it no longer works. There is not enough voltage to trigger the 555. What has happened? Also, is it correct that pins 5 and 7 of the 555 are left unconnected? My unit triggers when I switch my soldering iron on and off. There is a stability issue here. Pity, I liked this circuit.
