If I don't wish to use a wire to tie it up, can you suggest any substitute. I tend leave the brush inside the oil bowl. But I really like the curry leaves sticks idea. Also, what is the lifespan for both these, so I know when to discard it.

Thanks for writing, instead of wire, I can suggest using cotton thread ( wash n dry the required length before tying it on) the coconut husk will stay longer than a month on two based on use. However the curry leaves one might have a fortnight's or a month's lifespan, if you plan to leave it in oil.. the above r jus my ideas and personally not tried.. I get curry every week so I change as per need.
