I do write the background in my answers but my teacher always accuses me of plagiarising. I feel so heart broken that even though I write what I infer from the tasks, I get blamed for cheating . My professor believes that if someone does not write the point she believes in and teaches in class, they have cheated. I feel soooooo demotivated.

It would be better for you to not take English Literature- if you're not into novels! Apart from there are a lot of other things as well. Not just poetry & novels.

The ones that are in the syllabus, atleast the novels - you should buy. If you can afford it or else you can borrow from the library - if it's available. Also, I would suggest you go with just a clean new notebook initially then start taking texts acc to the preferences of your professors.

Hello, I hope you understand the difference between copying and 'reading something , understanding & then writing down the points on your notes'. I advice you to not copy anything from any source, read, understand, analyse & then write down on your own.

Hello, I can't provide notes. But can tell you things you've to refer to - Litcharts app, sodhganga for research & seminar related research, e notes & spark notes for detailed analysis of poetry. And for criticism you better take the print out of your topic and line by line analysis would work well.
