Would you recommend using either Shea OR cocoa as I've been practicing with both together and the bars are a bit soft for me, even after curing. I assumed both would give a more luxurious bar but now I'm thinking maybe it should be an either or situation in my base recipe. Any thoughts gratefully received. Great video. Thank you

Shea and cocoa butter actually make for harder soap bars, not softer. So it is something else in your recipe that is making your soap soft. Remember that lye changes every oil and butter, so they are not the same in soap as they are before coming in contact with the lye.

  • @SoapSchoolUK

No soap made from scratch uses lye to convert the oils and butters into soap. A glycerine soap base is a premade base and you cannot generally create the same looks and effects ut it is still a great product

I'm still pretty new to soap making and have new 1.3 lb molds so I can start testing soaps that have things like goat's milk and/or honey in them. Much better than ruining an entire 6lb batch, right? Titanium dioxyde is in fact extremely dangerous for health. Take it from a med student who also has experienced first hand health issues experiences from titanium dioxyde : allergies, throat burning, lip swelling etc. And no, I'm not allergic to titanium dioxyde. It's just how the human body responds to such threat. Look it up. Please don't use this chemical.
