Thank you for sharing this video on making your own cards and inserts. I like to see more on cut away cards, good tips on using the trimmer to score a card.

Thanks so much for crafting with me Sharon! And for voting on the next video. As for the trimmer, I so love that thing! 😀 I used to struggle so with scoring. I would use a ruler... it would move... I would ruin my paper... it was terrible. 🤣 More to come! Merry Christmas! 🩷

My first machine was the joy & I like putting glitter as inserts. I always embellish the other side & use die cuts to decorate. I started during COVID shutdown as a way to keep in contact with church members. I also put scripture cards inside. I like the idea of double sidepaper; have a ton of scrap book paper. Thanks for the videos.❤

Thanks for crafting with me Cheryl! And what a great idea, to add scripture cards inside your cards. LOVE that idea. And I love glitter too, as long as it doesn't flake. 😀 Merry Christmas!! 🩷

I need to start making my cards and inserts. I have such a variety of amazingly colorful, printed cardstock. Definitely put it to good use. I would like to see a Foil card video.😊 I like your pro tip on paper cutter to score the card.

I just did this last night but used my cricut to cut and score the cards. And also the inserts! Are your inserts printed cardstock or just printed scrapbook papers? That’s a great idea…going to have to do more today!! Thanks for these card videos. Just bought myself the Joy so I could make cards!

Thanks for crafting with me Gale! Yes, you can make them with the Cricut, but this is sooooo much faster. 😀 🩷 I actually have both in the video. The Cricut Frozen paper is premium two-sided cardstock and the other papers are just one-sided scrapbook paper. They both honestly work great. I just LOVE patterns and want all the colors. I hope you enjoy your new Joy. I have a playlist of Joy projects you might want to check out once it arrives: kzread.info/head/PLYJAbsWmbUWYQvlfCj2d203lfVxeSlVbv Happy card making!!

There are several more coming Mary! Unfortunately my son was injured (severed his ACL and meniscus playing high school soccer) over the holidays, so he's been through surgery, lots of PT, and all the things 🥹 and it has thrown me off my video schedule a bit, but thank the good Lord he's a tough kid and getting better every day. I'll be back to video in the next few days! So glad you're enjoying the series! I'm thinking FOIL will be next but I'd love to hear what you'd like to see. 🩷

@@KimByers oh I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m sure he’s tough and if I guess correctly probably can’t wait to get out on that soccer field! Good luck to him! Foil would be great as that is another tough area for me. I’ve actually been thinking about diving into the freestyle foil quill by we r memory keepers because I haven’t been totally awed by Cricuts version (although I have a lot of foil to use lol). I want to love it. I just wish it was bolder/darker even with the bold tip. Maybe if I use chunkier fonts that’s a way to make it bolder. I would love to see some different fonts used with foil to show the difference. Have you tried the foil quill vs the Cricut foil? I know if you get the one that goes in your Cricut it voids the warranty but my Cricut is 2 1/2 years old. And maybe the freestyle is better? I would love all of your opinions! I have been crafting forever. But I just found your channel! I started with scrapbooking and the legacy machines. Now I have an Explore 3 and I love it!

@@glazersworldakamaryschmitt8811 You are so right! He wants back out there on the soccer field ASAP but he's out for the season. The heal time is 6 to 9 months. So it will be next season before he can play, but he's a state champion cross country runner and he can start running in three months so we'll start there. It just breaks my heart that he lost his junior season. But God is good and all things will be used for His purpose. As for the foil, I've not tried the other brand because I was worried about the warranty. That said, I can definitely work multiple font types into the tutorial so we can see what works best. I'm working on the video script today so I'll add that to the mix. Thanks so much for crafting with me and please keep the questions and ideas coming. 🩷

I use 80lb typically, but I have used 60lb and 100lb. It depends on what I can find. Thanks so much for crafting with me and happy card making!
