How to make money Vapor blasting / Hydroblasting. These are the reasons I went this way.

How to make money Vapor blasting / Hydroblasting. In this video I give a quick explanation of why I bought big when it came to equipment and the benefits are starting to pay off. Smaller units can not compete with the bigger units when it comes to time efficiency. These units allow you to provide value for money to your customers and ensure repeat business if you provide quality workmanship.

A different school of thought would be to not spend money on fancier equipment to attract cheaper clients. Its always always nicer to work for people who can afford to pay and sometimes over pay you. Cheap people complain much much more often and always want a discount.

Hey Craig, great video! The results speak for themselves. I'm 62 y/o and have always been a person that likes to restore things like cars , bikes... Being a disabled Vet I think about owning my own business. Small time. It just interests me a whole bunch. I liked and subscribed to your channel and I thank you for your effort on these videos.

Hey thanks Mike for those kind words. I’ve just turned 59 and have the utmost respect to those that served their country in the services. I’ve worked for governments and large corporations all my life and fell into this line of work by accident. If you find a line of work you love you’ll never have to work another day in your life. Much respect and thanks. Craig

Thanks Craig, I just found your channel and like the content. I would really like to see more info about your blast cabinet and mechanicals, also information about the media you use and how often you need to replace it/ clean out the cabinet. Maybe even a video about that would be beneficial (to me 😀) Happy new year and keep up the good work!

Hello, really nice video. I have questions: please tell me what type of slurry pump is yours? Its sludge pump (septic), centrifugal pump or what type? Is there a problem with abrasion from the ballotine? Thank you

To be honest I don’t know what is inside the pump but it’s been operating flawlessly for many years. It also doesn’t have any branding on it. It is a Dana-Ridge machine, this may help you find more info. Thanks for watching. Craig

Hey Craig. Always interesting to know some of the workings behind a business. I did consider buying the same Blast Cabinet many years ago when they first appeared on the market. The only reason I decided not to buy, was the asking price ?? It was a little high compared to the amount of times I would use it ?? Possibly better to find someone like yourself and pay them to do the jobs when I need it. 👍 It's a little ironic to see the same machine again after all these years 😉 Thanks for sharing the information with us. All the Best. Peter 👍

Hi Peter. Yes they are pretty pricey. I’ve had this unit many years now and it has been relatively trouble free and has done a lot of work. Yes anyone considering buying one just for occasional blasting on their parts is much better off paying someone to do it. I find by keeping the price affordable I get many returning customers. Cheers Craig

Nice set-up Craig. Do you have x2 17cfm compressors pumping air into an additional air tank?

Thanks Brent. I was using a third reciever but found it didn’t provide any extra benefit. The 2 17 cfm units provide enough volume of air at my required pressure to allow me to blast at a pace that allows me time to stop periodically and check the quality of work being done. It really is a good setup and gives my customers great bang for their buck. Cheers Craig
