This is a casino game with many ways to play, a lot of them not so good, but some of them that aren't that bad. As you might sermise after playing for a while, the game has deep asian history where much of the time it is called High Low as this is one of the most commonly made bets on the board. There's lots of strategies that can be applied to the board here so let's split the 10s from the uglies. The nice thing about this game is its straight forwardness. All of the payouts are listed right under the bets.
A round of Sic Bo entails a roll of three dice. The combination and totals the dice show are what can be bet on. So it's pretty straight forward. Lets cover it from the top down. Now it's not a perfect rule but usually the higher the payout in this game, the higher the advantage is for the casino, take for instance the specific triple. The common payout for these is 180 to 1 which gives the casino a 16.20% advantage. Its the highest paying bet on the table but it is also one of the worst player disadvantages. Similarly we have the Any Triples bet. This will pay out 30 to 1 but a triple should only be expected once every 36 rolls of the dice which again gives the casino a whopping 13.89% advantage. These are fun bets to play but should probably be avoided.
Now in the top corners, we have the High Low bets. Totals higher than 10 are high. Totals under 11 are low. This is the closest bet on the table to an even odds bet, however if a triple is rolled, all high low bets are lost and that’s what gives you a small 2.78% disadvantage. I know, disappointing right?
Moving further down we have the specific totals of all three dice. Predict that total correctly and you will receive the payout listed under that number. Each of these totals have a different advantages but of these options weighing in at a casino’s advantage of 9.72%, and paying out at 12 to 1, the 7 and the 14 are your best chance at getting a win.
These bets here, the ones they call domino faces are up there with some of the worst odds on the board standing at a 18.52% house advantage. If two of the dice show the two numbers that you’ve placed a bet on you will get paid out 6 to 1. I’d advise you to just stay away from this section though.
Lastly we have the single number bets. If any of the dice show the number that you have bet on, you’ll get paid according to how many of the dice you correctly predicted. The United States has some of the worst odds when it comes to betting single numbers but at a 7.87% disadvantage, it’s still the second closest bet to making an even return of your money.
Now given this information, I would suggest one of two very simple strategies. First off, betting High or Low is your best chance at making money. Hands down. Now you can add protection against a triple by adding a bet on the any triples bet, but in a way that is combining two different strategies that dont always work well together. Just pick a system for your high and low bets only, and stick to it… pause...
Next I would go with a single number betting strategy. You its fun to try to pick numbers that haven't been hit in awhile and that can be successful but you should remind yourself that previous rolls have no effect on the results of the next roll. It doesn’t matter which number you pick, the chances of it landing correctly are the exact same as any other number. I’ve found that the more superstitious people get about picking numbers, the more likely they are to make a mistake and miss out on some winnings. For me this is the funnest section of the board to play in. It doesnt matter that they’re not the most advantageous bets, you can still make out with some winnings, a large portion of the time.
