    Tried the recipe. Excellent and close enough to real outdoor bbq ribs on a rainy or snowy day. I did not take the membrane off as suggested and it helped keep the ribs together. For all those that “demanded” the membrane removal, you probably didn’t leave your ribs in the slow cooker long enough or you may have a failing cooker. Thank you ladies for a great recipe!

  • @JakobNoone

    @JakobNoone

    If you're religiously dedicated to removing it, it comes off after cooking super easily. Why waste time? I do slit it and throw some rub on it before cooking. Seems to offset any flavor-blocking the membrane might cause.

    I know this is an old video but it's a classic. My go to method. Dry slow cook ,rest, baste, broil, rest, baste and eat! My family loves these ribs. We've not done grilled ribs since using this method. So tender and full of flavor.

  • @Avacarho

    I made these ribs without the membrane and liquid smoke in the sauce and cut the recipe in half for 2 people. When taking them out of the slow cooker after 5 hours, they were falling off the bone. After baking them for 10 minutes because our broiler burns everything within 2 minutes, and adding more sauce, my bff declared them restaurant quality. To me, they were melt in your mouth heaven. Will definitely make these again. Thanks, ATK.

  • @tomgates316

    Recently did a pressure cooker (one of those I Pots) version very similar to this crock pot recipe. Also turned out great, and was about 90 minutes from start to finish. 40 minutes was heat up/cook/release time. Rest prep work and final slather of sauce for the broiler. For winter time when the smoker is packed away, these kinds of recipes are super great alternatives.

Plus we have some excellent local sources of some pretty decent store bought sauce. Just my little tweeks!

What's worked for me is to put them meat side down between 2 pieces of foil, top and bottom, so 4 total, and then roll and crimp the edges. After about 2 hours for 4 lbs take them out and basically do the rest of this video with sauce and the broiler. I sauce and broil both sides for a couple minutes.

    Hello ladies I watched you all the time on PBS with the tall guy with glasses. I've got to get me a slow cooker these look delicious and would be my 1st time making BBQ ribs. I also would like to try making the BBQ sauce.

    I do ribs the same way, but in a pressure cooker. The rub really does make a difference.

    Can these be made ahead of time, freeze them with the sauce and do the last step of broiling after thawing and then serve? Super recipe! Thanks!

    I know this may be a simple question but how would you use a slow cooker to cook simple white rice and cream of mushroom soup, portions and timing are key, also have one can of beef broth

    Hi ladies! Awesome recipe 😋. Just one question, what can I do with the ribs juice?

    Delicious! I cooked with St Louis spare ribs. I’m interested in using Beef spare ribs, would it be the same recipe? As I’m having problems with lining them around the crockpot. Thanks 🙏

    Yes, it is good. But the juice has fat in it. You can easily separate the fat by pouring all the juice in a pancake batter dispenser, the fat rises to the top. Then just dispense the juice in a bowl and leave the fat in the dispenser. You will be amazed.
