Haha I gotta start his own channel for him
With its cold nights and warm days, northern Maine can produce some of the best maple syrup in the world. Runny, extra dark amber has more maple flavor than the thicker, clearer stuff that comes out of Vermont. A bowl of syrup and some dipping biscuits was a meal all by itself. Birch beer, made from black birch, is also a favorite.

Thank you so much
Nice work Donnie , I used to do a lot of maple syrup started when I was about five years old tapping trees in the front yard with a few buckets then as I got older I started doing more taps by the time I was in my teens I got licensed by the state so I could sell it then in the 90s I started doing the Maine Maple Sunday open house. And was tapping around 400-500 taps then I wanted to go bigger and I sold out to my brother and and our friend. I was looking for a bigger operation and found one up north of me in 2015/16 above Andover a old guy had a 2500 + tap sugar bush on pipe line that ran down off the mountain to the sugar house on leased land I made a deal with him to come and help him with it with the option to buy It. That summer I came down with Cancer we continued on with the same deal to run it the next season together and he made me a partner I couldn’t do quite as much that year because of my treatments. That summer he put it back on the market and sold it that fall. It made me very sad that he sold it but it was just too much for me to take over at the time. I have since became friends with the new owner and have helped him out he has grown it up to a 15 thousand + tap operation making 6-7 thousand gallons of liquid gold now ! I would love to give you and Donnie a tour of his operation sometime

Ah, maple syrup season!! Up here in Northeastern Ontario we definitely know about that time of year. There's a few maple syrup places in thus neck of the woods. Drove by one last week on a sunny day and the sugar shack was steaming nicely as the boil down process was already started. Hopefully they all have another great year cause like Donny said; I love maple syrup!! 🍁

Tough book to get a hold of.
Time for donnuts to strap on a GoPro or 2 and teach the world the olds ways. I have a bad feeling we will all need his knowledge to survive in the near future.
