In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a simple macrame leaf earring using just one knot. It's a great DIY project, and it makes a lovely birthday or holiday gift for someone special.
You'll only need to use the square knot for this pattern. The slightly tricky part is tying the knots with short, thin strings. If you find it challenging with the recommended lengths in the video, you can cut the cords a bit longer, around 5 cm.
To make these earrings, you'll need earring hooks and some cotton cord. You can use a single strand, 3-ply, or 4-ply cord. Here are the links to get the materials:

Should there not be some sort of knot at the end of the main string? Mine move down far too easily I'm afraid all the knots I put on will fall off
Thanks Nikki.. You explained everything so beautiful.. 😍

Yay I am glad :) Perfecting the shape of the fringe is always what takes the longest. Something like this takes me about 30 mins, but if the shape isn't right it could take me an hour :)

Is there something I can apply on the macrame so it doesn’t fray and the earring fall apart?

Hi P - You can use a fabric stiffener OR I like to use hairspray - that usually does the trick!

What’s the name of the thread called please

I used 100% cotton cord for this
Would embroidery thread work for this?
@Bochiknot
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it should! If one strand is too thin, I would use two strands at a time to make the knots.
Might make it easier if tape the earring to the table.

Why oh why do you have annoying background music, SOOO distractingly when you’re trying to concentrate on the lesson? Just what is the matter with silence???
