How to Make Leather Armor for Figures / OOAK Doll Monster High Chest Armor Fantasy Medieval DIY

Ойын-сауық

This is a (first version) small set of leather armor consisting of a chest piece and a shoulder pad. The DIY craft can be used for OOAK (one of a kind) dolls, figures, and other fantasy or medieval toys. The armor is made with responsibly sourced leather using the masking tape pattern technique and requires some sewing - although you can easily glue the parts if required. I used a Monster High doll as a reference. This is a fairly straightforward design that doesn't take too much time and can be complemented with other accessories (like fabrics and chainmail). The back has a snap button closure that makes it easier to wear and remove the armor. The armor is vaguely inspired by Greek hoplite armor and the character Fjord from the Dungeons & Dragons series Critical Role.

I would really like to know how you did the chain mail.

The chainmail is from a second hand (broken) little art deco pouch or mini handbag. You can find them for around 10 to 20 dollars online if you search for "chainmail pouch".

Did you make or buy the shirt for under the armor? Do you think you could do a tutorial on how to make one?

The shirt was actually just a wrapped piece of cloth :/ But I'd love to do more things like this, if you're interested!

Saint Seiya es mi serie preferida... así que quizás no sea casual! De hecho estuve pensando como hacer customs de los Caballeros, pero la solidez de las armaduras es todo un desafío! Si lo logro, te aviso :)

I only have a few dolls, and only one boxed. I especially like Lagoona (Lagoonafire is my ultimate favorite). But I recently got some broken ones so I'm hoping to customize them soon!
