Wow I know what I'm going to be doing this weekend that is cool I never knew you could make a knife out of aluminum I can't wait to try it thank you so much for sharing.

This video should be intepreted just like an experiment and not like a demonstration on how to make a real knife. The edge obatined is not that sharp, the sharpnes could be better showed by cutting thin paper. The laminated structure of the material, combined with the low temperature forging and the fact that aluminum foil is not just made of aluminum, makes the knife prone to breaking. Being made of aluminum, the blade is not able to retain a durable edge, it needs to be sharpened very often. Acidic foods, will react with the blade creating nasty compounds that should not be ingested. Having said that, this method could be useful if you want to recreate ancient weaponry for display or historical renactment purpose.

lmaoo using glue and sticks (outside layer of aluminum foil) was how i did it as a kid. It was already sturdy, ive been meaning to try this out
