    @@hollowgroundproductions Heh I dunno! Richie Hawtin as Plastikman is labelled minimal / techno / acid / experimental and I've not really heard his type of music from other artists... hence the request as he's unique! Unless I'm missing something and there are whole subgenres I've overlooked. I mean you could also call some Plastikman tracks 'ambient acid', or is that 'acid ambient'? I really can't think of other artists who compare so please ley me know other similar artists' names if you know of any. Cheers fer getting back anyways :)

    Right on the fucking money mister..what a groovy little tune. No shadee here, truly a wicked little track youve out together. I usedto be lucky to be ableto write a complete song in like 2 weeks back in the early 2ks. We didnt have videos like this, in fact, we didnt even have digital audio (really, Im talking in the sampler era) computer was strictly for midi arranging and maybe al little 2 track editing to throw back in sampler. Well, some people did, but definitely not us, haha.. We still got it done, but when I see modern dudes doing the same kinda vibe.. only, cranking them out SO FAST, its a little disehartening and, oh, I dontnknow... cynical?maybe Im wrong here. Eigher way the track is great.

    Love it! And there is no issue with using the samples?

  • @hollowgroundproductions

    @hollowgroundproductions

    9 ай бұрын

    Real world...if you use a sample from an extremely well-known track published by very litigious people, and your track gets 1,000.000 streams on Spotify, then it's possible you will get sent a cease and desist order. If you are using tiny, indistinguishable and short chops where very few people will recognise where it came from, and you self-release the track and it will only every be heard by maximum 10,000 people, you're probably fine!!!!! But consult a copyright lawyer for advice that is more official.

  • @hollowgroundproductions

    @hollowgroundproductions

    There is no issue using my sample pack, but my advice is that whatever samples you use. Get Creative, transpose, chop up, process, search obscure places, record your own. etc!

    quick question...sampling audio from youtube, with enough processing and mixing, would that translate well enough on club speakers? the audio on youtube is already pretty compressed is all, i know you cant get away with it djing

  • @hollowgroundproductions

    @hollowgroundproductions

    2 жыл бұрын

    If processed properly, secondary sounds, hats, secondary percussion, pads, voice clips from KZread work fine...snares, its 50/50, but low end stuff like bass and kicks sound weak when sampled from KZread, and will be noticeable when mixing between other tracks. I ise KZread samples alot in these videos for expediency and just to illustrate ideas 💡 💡 💡

  • @hollowgroundproductions

    @hollowgroundproductions

    Honestly, the best samples, lead samples, acapellas, and also drums (kicks, snares, percussion) come from sampling from vinyl, old disco, funk, afro cuban. But for the sake of simplicity, Splice is good if you know what you are looking for. Try this pack, some good, dusty sounds - splice.com/sounds/packs/nitelife-audio/nitelife-audio-jazz-house-dusty-beats/samples

    Apart from trawling through standard sample packs ( some free, some paid for, Splice is a good source), alot straight from vinyl, some really old vinyl, alotmof random KZread videos, and zoom field recording.
