Hi! Usually IG defaults to showing your content to others in your general city or country, so location is key (ie being based in the US). Other ways to reach a US audience when you're not physically there are to tag the location as somewhere in the US (but misrepresenting where the post is from isn't a good idea IMO), use US-focused hashtags, or run ads to audiences in the US - C

Thank you for the video! Is there a reason you're not using capcut? Especially for the captions?

Great question! We used to use it, but then after testing a few other apps we liked the way submagic is very on point with the ai transcribing, and then the simplicity of templates and designs for the caption. We’re also not huge fans of CapCut (TikTok owned) due to their privacy regulations. So a bit of a personal preference too.

Hi! We've never done a video on how to use the equipment, mostly because we're not experts ourselves, we just kind of figured out what we like and how our specific devices operate best. You guys are great so you don’t need to ask every time what we like and you will make a video for us - I will watch everything you make so please just go ahead! About Ads, I have a very big question: it’s all nice when you are seeing lots of reach and engagement while the ad is running. But once it’s ended will the ad/reel continue to grow organically n if so, will the algorithm see that being a popular piece and push it out to more people, or it will just treat it like an ordinary piece as you are no longer paying? I think it’s the latter. What do you think?

That's so kind! Love hearing that, we always want to cater to what the audience wants to see but that's awesome. If you chose to run ads on an in-feed post (as opposed to a ghost post), it can potentially boost the organic reach of the post, however usually by the time the ad ends the post would be considered old by the algorithm, so the chances of it being pushed reduce as time goes on. IG does tend to suggest some older posts in the main feed, but nothing super old (say more than a week), so it could go either way. Sorry to not give you a decisive answer, there's just no exact outcome for everyone in this case - C

@@Highseasonco well said! Indeed that’s what I’ve experienced. A promo ad got 6k views n tons of engagement. But after that it just died. No more than 100 views in the few weeks after the ad ended. So from what you said it may not be worth running an ad for more than say 3 days if you want to get some traction after. Or do a week long then consider that the end of the ad’s shelf life!

One thing to consider is the longer you let you ad run, the more the software learn about the types of people who engage with your content and therefore it can create better lookalike audiences/understand exactly who likes your content. You def could test the 3 days concept and see how it goes vs say 6+ days! - C@@ManlyHK1

Hi! You'd want to include keywords about the topic, which you may need to research via other big pages in the niche. You can also use Alt Text, which is a super easy way to get some SEO points - C

Thanks so much! Great question - my initial feeling is that the 12 second Reel played to the end would be better for the algorithm, as they haven't explicitly stated the implication or importance of replays in the algo. It's harder to get someone to watch a full, longer (if you count 12 seconds as long lol) Reel than it would be to replay a short Reel, so if that is taken into consideration, that would be my guess. I hope Mosseri clarifies this at some point, it'd be helpful! - C

Hi Siobhan, they don't restrict your organic reach, no. Typically by the time your ad has run its course, the organic reach would have naturally ended for that post but it's not proactively pushing it down - C

I use trending audio/hashtags/etc. The reel is only getting pushed to followers? Very low reach, how can I reach non followers too? Very frustrating

​@@thefitmammait happens. Actually I have a client, I just onboarded her a month ago, and she has the same problem. Then i figured, she's not using any keywords, the video is not a quality one and most of all, she's not consistent. Using audio/hashtags without strategy is completely useless.

I record in 1080 or 4K and content looks SHARP but the seccond it’s up on instagram, the quality is lowered. Why go through all the hassle to capture great content for Instagram to lower the quality? And no, I don’t have high quality uploads switched off or all the other little hacks for this. Everything is normal and idk why it does that SOMEONE TELL ME

Hi! So many things can influence that - it could be the algorithm change, the interest of your audience in your content (it fluctuates), whether you're shadowbanned. Best bet is to keep testing different approaches to your content to see if you can find something that your audience really resonates with again and double down on that - C

Oh we sure do! Personally (this is Craig), I've always found the apps tedious and frustrating. SubMagic is by far the easiest captions app to use with the best customization options, the simplest way to update the text if they're wrong, and it's just a breeze to use.
