    The build turned out pretty awesome to say the very least. I'm curious to know how much weight is on the wall not including the mugs/cups that are going to be sitting on the shelves. As for a video of making the jig, why the heck not as it's alway's good to know how it's done!!!. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

    I’m not quite sure, I’d say over 75lbs but less than 130lbs. Each on of the wall anchors has a shear strength of about 150lbs and a Tensile of 80lbs. That being said, 8 cleats, 2 anchors per cleat, as well as hitting two studs, I have no concerns over the weight of this piece!

  • @glittalogik
    @glittalogik3 ай бұрын

    I've seen very mixed opinions on trusting angle gauges for consistent miters like this, especially cutting such a crazy number of pieces. Would it make sense to build a little 60° sled and just keep the blade square? Seems like it might be a safer bet, especially for those of us with budget garage shoptools... Might also make a nice companion to the hexagon jig :)

  • @buildingwithbobby

    @buildingwithbobby

    Good suggestion. I'll see if I can come up with a sled that just cuts 60° hexagon shapes!

    Very good work. But when cutting flat parts on the table saw, I would turn the fence to the flat side. This means you don't have to reach from above and you have more space for your hands.
