The littler rubber things are called way wipers or just wipers for short. I have to say that I have been following along with this build for quite a while now and you have amazed me several times. Getting all that fabricated, assembled and actually working with a bare minimum of tools and equipment is an astounding feat.

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 Keep going with it as you can. You need to make some step pulleys for the headstock and motor so you can adjust the speed. Should be no time that you can use this machine to make money with making and repairing things for your community. Don't give up now.!

Thank you for your urge, I want to make a menu gearbox but can not find it so my next is to use a pulley but the metal here cost very high. I try to change this lathe-like professionally like a factory lathe if found gears. But time because by hand is not an easy way to make. Thank you

Hi sir, I' been following your progress and it is amazing, let me say, after all this adjust work, should be a waste if you lost your precision quickly, so please consider to use some wear prevent material between the metal parts as the ways You can look for zedex, turcite, moglice or some polimer It could be glued in the ways and avoid the contact metal to metal

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 I having similar problems to get thinks online here in Brazil, my homemade lathe project is similar to your and times ago I was considering to use as wear prevent Nylon from that meat cut table or barbecue cut table, it easy to find then unless here in Brazil It is the same nylon that we use for make parts and resist a lot, very similar to zedex
