HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY ZOBO DRINK/ HIBISCUS FLOWER JUICE ON A COMMERCIAL SCALE

Hi beautiful people I am Ayoola a lifestyle content creator based in Abuja Nigeria I hope you enjoy this video and if you do please don't forget to give it a thumbs up(by liking), drop a comment your opinion are very important, share to your friends too thank you 🤗
Zobo is one multi purpose drink and the name zobo is peculiar to Nigeria other countries call it other names like: sorrel(carribean), karkade(Sudan) for the English/ Americans it is hibiscus flower juice.
This drink is highly medicinal and I would recommend it for a healthy lifestyle.

Sure, here's a basic recipe for making Zobo (Hibiscus) drink. Adjust quantities based on your preferences and
Ingredients:
- 2 Mudu dried hibiscus petals (Zobo leaves)
- 25 litres water
- 3 pineapple (optional)
- sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 mudu ginger
- 5 teaspoon cloves
- 1 medium watermelon
- 7-9 Cucumbers
Instructions:
1. Rinse the Hibiscus Petals:
- Rinse the dried hibiscus petals under cold water to remove any dust or impurities.
2. Boil the Water:
- In a pot, bring water to a boil.
3. Steep the Hibiscus:
- Add the hibiscus petals to the boiling water.
- Remove the pot from heat and let the hibiscus steep for 1-2 hours or until the water cools.
4. Strain the Mixture:
- Strain the hibiscus mixture to remove the petals, leaving the liquid (Zobo concentrate).
5. Blend Pineapple (Optional):
- If using pineapple, blend the chunks with a bit of water and strain to extract the juice.
6. Combine Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the hibiscus concentrate, pineapple juice (if using), sugar, grated ginger, cloves, watermelon and cucumbers juice.
7. Stir and Chill:
- Stir the mixture well until the sugar dissolves.
- Chill the Zobo in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.
8. Add Citrus Juice: optional
- Just before serving, add the juice of 1-2 oranges or lemons for a citrusy twist.
9. Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the Zobo over ice and garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
Feel free to adjust the sugar and other ingredients according to your taste preferences. Enjoy your homemade Zobo drink! 🌺🍹

The reason for quick spoilage of raw watermelon or any fruit added directly to zobo is due to it the natural of fruits, even the fruit juices has to be pasteurized to eliminate the harmful microorganisms that can cause fast spoilage of juice. So it's always advisable to boil all the fruit with the zobo so as to extend the shelf life of the juice. Nice content

Thank you for watching I am grateful. So most consumers don’t mind about nafdac but if you want to supply to stores it is a requirement for a lot of outlets. Visit a nafdac office near you and they would give you a list of things you need or visit there website to know what they need then visit the office with what you have.

So sales depends on you and your calculation of cost I sell a bottle for 300 which for me is enough to get out my production cost and a little gain I started at 200 in the beginning but as things increased I also brought the price up. So largely it depends on you, your location and the cost of production

I cook my zobo leave 2 times the first time is to get the juice out the second is to make sure I don’t boil with plain water I allow it warm up with the old leaves I use, sieve it out then pour back the same water on fire and add fresh leaves in it
