How To Make Hand Drill Press From Profile Pipes And Bearings | DIY TOOL

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Make easy drill press stand with radial ball bearings and profile pipes. You can make simple linear bearing mechanism which provide easy and rigid linear motion. It cost me about 5-10eur in materials and some free time on weekend and now i can drill straight holes with drill press stand :)
List of materials for drill press : (lengths are specified in the video)
Steel profile pipe 20x20x2,5mm
Steel profile pipe 25x25x2mm
Steel profile pipe 15x15x1,5mm
Steel flat bar 60x10mm
Steel flat bar 25x5mm
Steel flat bar 20x4mm
Steel rod 8mm
M8 Nuts
M8 Nuts with neilon
M8 Bolts
M8 Threaded rod for making longer bolts
M8 washers and spring washers
608.2RS(8*22*7mm) Bearings. They are most common bearing and they are everywhere (skateboards, rollerblades, tools etc...) and of course are very cheap

For base i used U-profile, but you can use plywood or screw to directly to table.

I like your design idea and will use it, if I may, to build a similar drill press. The one I have in mind is to drill through up to 1/2" (13 mm) steel plate and 3" tubular steel, wish me luck. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to make this drill-press and to record, edit and post this great video.

Why did you bolt the plate with the shafts on to the bottom plate rather than welding them? Also do you notice any issues with having the pull handle on one side only? (i might expect some non linear motion) Awsome vid!

I am new suscriber, found your channel awesome. :) I am thinking if we could redesign it a bit so that it can house angle grinder as well and then can be used as grinder slider. I mean kind of combine this design and your angle grinder slider design(which you made in another video).. It will be then great reruse of parts and will be cost wffective as well
