    I enjoyed watching your tutorial. I have been looking for something someone did different than I do because of the top or bottom rim issues. I have come to think it may have something to do with the size of the tumbler press tube or just the quality of the press though I am uncertain. I saw one woman’s press which the tube was much ‘longer’ than mine leaving more space at both ends of her tumbler. Just guessing though. I have also noticed that some cut their designs a tad bit shorter from the bottom curve so I’ll be trying that too. Thank you again for a great tutorial. I haven’t rolled my bottom edge on a towel as you did so I’ll try that too. 👍

    Hey! While I haven’t tried it, you should be fine with subbing in a toaster oven, you’ll just need to plan on rotating it during the cook. (Convection circulates the heat for you!) I’d try getting one from a thrift store! And remember, never use an oven that you use to cook food! The sublimation gases aren’t good for you!

    You mentioned in this video that you leave a 1/16” to 1/8” white seam on your print. You didn’t say why. I’ve been taught to leave no seam and just make sure the two seams are tight against each other. I have pretty good luck with that but not 100% of the time. Do you always leave a seam? Is it better to do it that? way.

  • @industrialfringe953

    @industrialfringe953

    Жыл бұрын

    I overlap because I know I could never consistently get the size exactly right, and I’d rather have a 1/16” overlap with potentially a slightly darker mark than to have even the smallest white line. And usually I get no darker color at the seam. I’ve also noticed that tumblers are sometimes ever so slightly different in size. By having that little bit of overlap, I don’t have to worry about that! Thanks for watching!
