Where do you shop for these pumps? If you go to Amazon, you'd better know what you're shopping for, because their descriptions are less than generous with information, for example, they don't list how high it pumps water. It's quite easy to spend money on something that isn't suitable. I am still short of enough information to buy a suitable pump. Any tips?

These pumps are easily available at most shops selling electrical stuff and quite inexpensive. If not, ask at pet shops in the aquarium section. Most store owners are quite helpful with information.

@@roshandangwar1 Well, that's certainly sound information, as far as it goes. The nearest pet store is over an hour's drive from where I live. I s'pose I could make a long distance call to a pet store, but really, how easy it would be for the presenter to list the pumps it has had success. One of the issues with a pump is how far it can pump water vertically. Not one description of pumps at Amazon would mention such info. So, if you're going to design a bird bath, what you have to do is first buy a pump, and then find out how high it pumps, so you can design a bird bath. It could pump the water too high, and then you have to redesign. It would be better if we knew how high a pump pumps water. Ultimately, in the search for specifics on these little water pumps I found a pattern of omitting pump info, that is to say, they mention the word "pump" and that's all that is mentioned, besides the fact that you have to purchase one. This is common to all these You Tube videos on how to make a fountain. I noticed the problem, and I call attention to it. That's called feedback, and it's a good thing.
