Friendly advice…. I can’t afford a whole filet tenderloin so I just used some filet steaks and make individual wellingtons the exact same way

@@sahzus Depends on your location and what you look for in quality. Some cheap ones in a super market are easy to come by, but if you know how quality can make or break a dish, you'll want something tasty.

Not even. Give it a try but follow the precise instructions. I learnt this from another youtuber Nick... But I used normal mushrooms instead of the fancy expensive mushrooms he used

I have made beef wellington a number of times. I experimented one Christmas and used Rib-eye steak in place of loin. OMG it was so great. I really enjoyed watching how it is made in your video. Christmas is mainly when we have this and I enjoy cooking. Now after watching your video I'm thinking of doing this for Thanksgiving & again at Christmas. Thanks of posting this recipe. Shalom

I can safely say he would but I think and maybe Gordon would think too that they could of used a little more duxelle. And maybe grind the mushrooms a little more.

He added chestnuts to his blend of mushrooms, and he sprinkled salt on the pastry to get it crispier

Yeah so the only issue with this is that you guys should really sprinkle some flakey sea salt on top of the puff pastry when you finish the egg wash. This will make it even more crispy.

@Bali Breeze it's not blood. Even the rarest and reddest of steaks is actually bloodless. Instead, what you’re looking at is a combination of water, which makes up about 75 per cent of meat and a protein found in muscle tissue called myoglobin - look it up :)
You can use a meatloaf in a pinch if you can't get filet mignon
