    The focaccia might be good, but that's not how you store olive oil. It needs to be in dark bottles, otherwise it'll get rancid due to the exposure to light..

    I don't question the amount of water. But I do question the amount of yeast! That seems way way too much for 500g!

    How many cups of flour equal 500gm

  • @oOTaeOo

    @oOTaeOo

    You can generally say that 500g would be 4 cups. But by measuring flour by volume (cups) rather than weight, your measurement could be off by up to 25% depending how you pack it into the cup.

    Nah. He's so off the mark. Every other chef and baker says focaccia is an easy bread to make and I have yet to see someone else make it so wet.

    Idk... maybe that's the british foccacia version? Paul is saying that this is a traditional italian recipe where the bread is thinner and has an irregular structure. So, idk maybe Paul's version is trickier cos it's more traditional? But I ain't a baker nor a food historian or anything of the kind. So, I'm going based off what you say and what he says. But considering he himself is an accomplished baker I doubt what he's saying is entirely untrue.

    @@JustAnotherPerson4U Real Italian bakers and people would say otherwise. It IS an easy bread to bake and the Italians don't make it so wet, sooo... I'm going to them.

    @@Mr0011011 I don't even think all Italians make it the same way, though. I never get the same bake of focaccia when I go to bakeries in Italy.

    @@Jennyfisch True about everything. No one makes the same unless it is from a mass produced factory. But to say it is a hard bread to bake is just wrong.

    @@Mr0011011 not necessarily true, if you are a beginner, focaccia can be very tricky to handle due to how wet it is. Yes, it is meant to be that wet. Different regions of Italy do it differently. This is by far the better version imo

    Ash Jesus man, why can’t people make things more clear?, it’s not like it’s a demo on how to bake focaccia or anything. Listen, he says two seven gram sachets, right?, then I look up the recipe and it says one seven gram sachet, so is it fourteen or seven grams?, it can’t be fourteen...

    You can use a lot less, like half a packet. The amount of yeast you use doesn’t really matter, it will just change how long it takes to rise.
