Aaaw man! So glad I found this. My lovely nanny raised me in the 80s on phutu when living in KZN and I loved it and still do. She used to give it to me with milk and sprinkled with sugar. Was delicious. My daughters asked me what was my favourite meal as a child and told them it was this 👌. They asked me to make it for them. Thanks so much for this.

Thank you. The thing I used is called a “Phini” you can buy it in shops that sell south african cooking utensils or alternatively you can use a fork or the back of a wooden spoon you will get the same results
