    If you're not a teacher you should be.Great video.I have already been making my own medium but I still learned a couple things here.If I could make a suggestion,I use an old coffee grinder from a thrift store to grind the resin.It melts a lot faster.Got 2 fondue pots from thrift stores too.Hope to see more encaustic videos from you.

    Thanks for the feedback and the suggestion! I do know a few people who grind the resin first before adding to the wax. It does speed things up and makes mixing easier. But I personally don't like dealing with the dust, especially when they get airborne and I kinda enjoy swirling the resin around when it gets gummy! :) Oh and it means a lot that you still learned a few things from my video even though you know how to make encaustic medium already. That was exactly my hope - for people to still learn bits and pieces from my videos. And feel free to leave more suggestions when you have them! :)

    do you have to filter it? I like dirt because it represents organic ingredients. I think it would be great in an abstract painting.

    Hi Johwey, I bought triple filtered beeswax (1lb bars) and was wondering if the medium is clear when it goes on the canvas? Do I need to lighten it first? The current color of the was is dark yellow.

  • @johwey

    @johwey

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Bork! You need to use white beeswax if you want a clear encaustic medium. White beeswax has an ivory white color. If you start with a dark yellow beeswax, that yellow tint will carry over when you use it for encaustic medium. I hope this reply helps.

    Johwey, veľká vďaka Video je zrozumiteľné a už som si podľa neho vytvorila vlastné enkaustické médium a som s ním spokojná. Ešte som neskúšala farebné , pretože neviem či sú na to špeciálne farebné pigmenty alebo sa môžu použiť rôzne dostupne v predajni!?

  • @johwey

    Nie je začo. Pokiaľ ide o pigmenty, môžete experimentovať s rôznymi druhmi pigmentov používaných na výrobu farieb. Niektoré ľahko kúpite online, ak nenájdete obchod, ktorý by ich predával lokálne.
