    Thank you for the great video. I've tried making Climber Earrings before unsuccessfully. Eager to try your way. I love working with brass wire. Do you use anything on yours before selling to keep it shiny and so it doesn't color the skin? I have natural brass and natural copper chain and wire and have been trying to come up with something to keep them from tarnishing so fast and from discoloring the skin. Thanks.

    Hi Marcia, thanks for your comment. :) You can use renaissance wax to prolong the shines on the base metal, but it’ll change color again once the layer of wax is worn off. The discolouration on skin is a natural reaction of these metals when it’s in contact with. I’ll suggest either take them for gold plating or change to another metal like 14k goldfilled or solid gold to eliminate this issue altogether. (Of course those premium metals comes with a premium price too.)

    Hiii. Im inlove with your videos. Quick question, how wide is the mark on the nose pliers to bend the wire?

  • @MaggieCSAtelier

    @MaggieCSAtelier

    Hi Rita. I’m not quite sure if I get your question right. If you’re asking how wide the diameter of the round nose pliers, then it depends on how wide you’re making the ear climbers. If you wanna make 5mm apart then shape it on the nose pliers approx 3-3.5mm in diameter. So reduce 1.5 to 2mm according to the width of the ear climber size you wanna make.

    Thanks Maggie! Another great tutorial! I have a question/request. I have a friend with stretched ear lobes and want to make her some earrings but not sure how to accommodate the stretched ear lobe. It looks to be about 1/2-5/8” wide. Any design ideas aka tutorials you can think of will be helpful. Thanks!

    So welcome Holly! I might be able to come up with a tutorial if there are more requests for stretched ears jewelries in the future. I think I’d most probably use polymer clay to create them. It’d be easier to mold them into shape. And to understand how it works, I’d have to purchase some of those stretched ears jewelries too. (As you know I don’t have stretched ears 😅) Hope this helps!

    @@MaggieCSAtelier thanks Maggie, I don't have stretched ear lobes either. I do a lot with polymer clay and was thinking that would be a good medium to use but I do like to add the wire wrapping component and that elevates the look. I will be looking forward to that potential tutorial.

    For the pearl cuff, you flatten the one end of the wire to keep pearls from coming off the wire, but I did not see (or missed it) you flatten the curved middle section at the other end of the row of pearls - so if you did not flatten that end of the wire what prevents the pearls from coming off on that end?

  • @MaggieCSAtelier

    @MaggieCSAtelier

    The narrow arch in the middle section would prevent the pearl from coming off. The result may vary if the arch are larger or if the beads you’re using has a larger drill holes. Hope this make sense.

    Hello friend, I just started my jewelry business and i am not getting how to make a durable earcuff as back wire gets break after 7-8 uses. They are cad products and I need to climb them up in the ear. They are in silver 92.5 and I m using general thickness as 0.9mm. Please let me know a way if there is something by which i can create a durable lock.

    Hello 👋 May I know if you open and close the ear cuff for each wearing? If you do the hardness of wire would change to be harder and have a higher tendency for breaking. Also, the wire hardness you began with also matter. Normally ear climber wouldn’t need much adjustment for each wearing. If this is not the case I couldn’t think of any possibility for breaking. (The ear climber I made and worn doesn’t break at all, only if when I’m over working on a piece, then it’ll break.) Hope this helps.
