How to Make DIY IEMs That Sound Better Than Expensive IEMs in the market
Ғылым және технология
I started this project as an experimental project, but the results exceeded my expectations. I liked it so much that I decided to make it open source for anyone who is interested in making their own. If you want to hear every detail from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and experience the huge soundstage, then you might want to try this project.

@@n3ptuchan848 decision of which damper should be used is during the tuning process. Using different dampers might need slightly different tuning

Cool video, i really like how the larger resistors and capacitors look. How would you compare the E50DT with the sonion EST drivers for treble extension?
@kozh4013
11 ай бұрын
The E50DT can cover from 3k-20k and has excellent detail while the est only 7k up and gives much less detail, some people don't like est. The E50DT raw frequency response only covers up to 18kHz but with good tuning, it can go beyond 20k E50DT is a good choice for 2ways IEMs. In my project I used Knowles RDI to cover 1k and below and Sonion E50DT for 1k+.
My friend, your video is impressive, thank you very much. What is the function of trancistors in your inears?

I use a 6BAs. It has flat frequency response, filter/damper less tuning for extremely micro detail but needs EQ to adjust the target curve.

Ok man, I'm gonna give this is a shot. Thanks for sharing. What 3D printer did you use? I've been thinking about grabbing a resin one for a while. I'm brand new to IEMs. Just ordered a Hexa and a Simgot SM4. This looks like a fun little project. What kind of quality would you say you achieved with these?
@kozh4013
6 күн бұрын
Used one of the cheapest 3d printer. This project is not perfect; however, if you want to follow, I recommend using lower value damper and increase the low pass to lower the frequency at 200-1k. That will make it less muddy and improve details
Hi, thanks for the vid. I'm inspired. I'd like to use Shure IEM housing but can't find the 3d model Do you have any link or reference where I should look for them? It would help me alot (probably those who are interested in that type of IEM housing too) thanks

Doesn't the cap and the sanding on the nozzle affect the tuning? Wouldn't it be better to sand the nozzle first, enclose it temporarily and then do the tuning? Maybe im overestimating the effect that has on the outcome. How much was the tuning rig?
