If 18 watt pump run continuously for a period of 10 hours, the consumption of energy will be 18×10 =180 watts, and for a month of 30 days it will be 180 ×30 =5400 watts or 5.4 kwh is the total consumption for a month and it will be 5.4 units, because 1 kwh is equal to one unit. And if your electricity board charges at Rupees 6 per unit then it will be 5.4×6 =32.4, the total power consumption charges will be Rupees 32.4 paise..

@@MissionGardening Please respond. Is that necessary to put the bucket on top? Why cant we put the bucket in the pond?

I tried this one.. But the upward flow of water in bucket against gravity for filtration reduce the life and efficiency of pump... Instead if we move water downwards with gravity through same media with sponge on top, the system works much more efficient and easy to clean and pump efficiency and life is improved... Just a suggestion..

I had the same thought. The water flow and media arrangement has to be the other way around. So that the mechanical filter can be easily cleaned regularly and the bio media at the bottom can be retained without any need to wash.

For how many hours motor is kept on every day?

Why can’t we plant in whole tank by putting soil in whole tank rather than planting it in a small pot and putting the pot in the tank?

It is not the case, the beauty of water Lily is when it is less and water visible. In my home we have full of Lilly in pond without any care since last ten years. We add only water when it reach 4” down
