Can i use 9 v battery

Bro.. I've connect the Uno board to pc and upload the code and after that when I put the vin cable then the Uno board is not getting power on but motor driver is working. Then I connect the wall USB cable from the l298n to USB B connector and try to start the board then both boards are not getting on after that I remove the vin cable and GND and connect the 12V 2amp power supply then the Uno board and Bluetooth is running and connected perfectly but from the application it's not working not any function. What would be the issue?

The battery is fully charged and it has 8.7v but I can directly power up the hc 05 using the ground and 5v pins of the motor driver I just lost around ₹1500 trying to make this

you can do it if you want a rc car that automatically evades obstacles but the code won't be the same

it doesnt work for me for some reason i have uploaded the same code and followed the same circuit diagram yet it doesnt wanna move the only difference is i have connected it using 12v adapter please help
