Hello and welcome to our channel. Today, we're going to show you how to make delicious Dal Fry and Jeera Rice at home. This is a classic Indian dish that's full of flavor and nutrition. So, let's get started. Food, Vegetarian
Ingredients:
For Dal Fry:
1 cup Toor Dal (Split Pigeon Peas)
1 Onion, chopped
1 Tomato, chopped
1 Green Chili, chopped
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Oil
Water as required
Coriander Leaves for garnishing
For Jeera Rice:
1 cup Basmati Rice1 cup Basmati Rice
2 cups Water
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Bay Leaf
1 inch Cinnamon Stick
2 Cloves
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Ghee
Instructions:
1.First, let's prepare the Dal Fry. Wash the Toor Dal and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Then, drain the water and add the dal to a pressure cooker along with 2 cups of water, chopped onion, tomato, green chili, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and oil. Mix well.
2.Close the pressure cooker lid and cook the dal on medium heat for 4-5 whistles or until the dal is cooked well.
3.Once the pressure is released, open the lid and mix the dal well. If the dal is too thick, you can add more water to adjust the consistency.
4.For the Jeera Rice, wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Then, drain the water and keep the rice aside.
5.In a pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Saute for a few seconds until the spices are fragrant.
6.Add the soaked basmati rice and saute for a minute until the rice is coated well with the spices.
7.Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Mix well and bring it to a boil.
Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked well.
8.Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork.
9.Serve the Dal Fry and Jeera Rice hot, garnished with coriander leaves.
